Landry brought some stability back to the Safety position lacking for a long time. He wasnt the best cover guy but he hit like a freight train.

And Devito, and Bell, and Greene, and Keller.

Until we sign some free agents.

Compensatory picks are awarded based on:
OUTGOING FA: # of player & quality of players & salary that they got from new team.

Two things to keep in mind though:
    1) You can't get more than 4 compensatory picks.
    2) When team signs FA, it lowers compensation they get back from outgoing FA.

Not sure what the exact formula. Every time I try to googleit, I only get that it's a "proprietary" formula. Jets will not know what compensatory picks they receive until a few weeks before 2014 draft.

Isn't it the 2014 Draft. I thought it was always the following year?

Edit: I see you edited your post. I believe it is the following year.

Landry thanked the Jets and their fans for the support in what he called "the best yr of his career" via twitter.

Good chance will get a 4th round pick for him, I'm actually thinking a third.

Keller will be like a 4th or 5th

Greene will most likely be a 5th

    Devito a 5th or 6th.

"@Brian_Bassett: I'm told that LaRon Landry was hoping #Jets could match his offer, which was why deal with Colts was struck so late last night."

Hey at least he wanted to try and come back and not bolt. It was the Jets decision.

landry seems like a stand up guy, and i definitely like that he made an effort to stay on the jets. jets couldnt afford that contract though.

Exactly, the Jets in a place now where a responsible GM needs to start stocking this roster with young players. The Jets played too many draft day games and now they need picks. When you always go for the big splash you lose picks.

Ill Miss Landry a lot. He played with heart and put his body on the line every game. He was my favorite player last season so gutted to see him go.

Prior to last season, Landry had two straight injury riddled seasons.
If you had to bet $14m on it, would you say that last year was a sign that he will remain
injury free for the remainder of his career, or that last year was a typical salary drive and his remaining career is risky?
