Not only will he not be the BPA at 9, but he isn't even the best WR in the draft. Moreover, WR isn't even a big need for this team (compared to Rb, Te, OLB, Safety, possibly Cb, etc.) I would pass. ~~~~ I hope we grab an OLB or Warmack. I really want someone who can get to the Qb so IMO it has to be Jones (if healthy) or Moore. Jordan is great against the run but he won't be an efficient sack-er.
Tell me what you think about this draft and how it would shape the Jets in the coming years first round - Cordelle Patterson Wr first round - D.J Fluker OL second round - Matt Elam S third round - Barrett Jones Ol fourth round - Leveon Bell RB fifth round - Jon Bostic LB sixth round - Nick Kasa TE seventh round - Adrian Bushell CB Obviously the extra first round pick is if we trade revis which i think is most likely going to happen but the way i see it is with this draft we would have our WR corp set up for the future with Kerley, Hill and Patterson our Ol would be extremely solid adding fluker to RT and Barrett Jones to guard he also has the ability to play every position on the OLso that would be huge for us elam would immediately upgrade our safety position leveon bell i honestly think is the best rb in the draft and think he would start from day one bostic is a solid linebacker who i think could contribute nick kasa is a big athletic pass catching te reminds of a poor mans keller and then adrian bushell is good sized fast corner who could help on special teams and hopefully eventually break into the corner rotation. So this draft i think would solidify our OL, WR RB and S position with some potential in the te and lb positions and a flyer on the cb position. I really like this draft a lot because if we give Sanchez a solid line and these wr and a running game and the potential with kasa at te either Sanchez will show his struggles were a major impact of the poor OL and Wr play or he will suck again and well have another top pick next year to get a qb and the pieces will already be in place for him. What do you all think.
Chance Warmack. Can drive block, can block and release to the 2nd level (see: Manti Te'o getting "walked" downfield) and can stone pass rushers - the complete package. No reaches, no "he has upside" grabs. Our QBs got their asses handed to them last year. Rebuild the team. Lots of holes to fill and it won't be fixed in a single year. Start with the foundation. With Warmack, your OL is 3/5th fixed. PS Happy to see Mingo pretty much getting ignored.
The football field is a chessboard - The QB is the most important piece, & we don't have one. We won't be getting one this year either. Next are pass rushers, of which there are at least 3 terrific ones in the draft. The Giants showed us how powerful the pass rush is! Let's get one! Next is a nose tackle in the 3-4. Think about Wilfork, Ngata, Kris Jenkins. I don't know who the best nose tackles are in this draft, but we need one real bad. Next are o-linemen, followed by the big group of ILBs, RBs, DBs, WRs, & TEs, depending on the particular skills in the available talent pool in any one draft year. I voted for Dion Jordan in the 1st round, but would be happy with the other listed OLBs or DEs who can pass rush.
This was pulled from another thread to put it in context and not de-rail that thread further. (my fault not Axel's) I'd take Jordan over Moore because Jordan is the greater of the two as a player. That's not taking anything away from Moore who is a fine prospect but you look for stars in the top 10 and Jordan has star written all over him at this point.
I'm also on board with Austin as the Jets pick. Jets offense is putrid and he's as much of an impact pick as anyone in the draft. That said, I wouldn't complain with any of the top WRs or OLBs.
Starting to waffle here. Been checking out some of the latter OLB prospects & liking what I'm seeing. OLB outside 1st round that I'm really liking right now is Jamie Collins & mocks put him reachable with Jets 3rd rounder. If Jets went OL with round 1 & grabbed OLB in 2nd or 3rd, I'd still be happy. Also, after watching the top OGs a little bit more, I'm in agreement that Cooper seems to fit a little bit better than Warmack (but both look very, very good).
The thing is I will be shocked if Jordan isn't taken by the 9 the pick. But definitely would pick him over Moore. I like what Jordan brings to the table as far as his coverage ability. He could make are d very versitile especially if we don't trade revis. Also how does everyone feel about Ziggy?
Thanks for the response! I guess I see what you mean; I just don't know enough about Jordan, but lately I've begun to realize that he does have a lot more potential as a potential star. I just don't think he'll be the dominating pass rusher that many fans want.
This, we have to rebuild the line. Brick and Mangold are not getting any younger either besides Warmack is a blue chipper
Agree 100% time to better the guard play on the Online.. Warmack Side note damn your avatar is distracting:breakdance:
Let's say the 9th pick comes up and Jordan, jones, Warmack are all on the board still who do you take? Should we try are hardest to trade back and hope for one of them to still be there while adding an extra pick?
If Jones checks out with the Jets medical staff you take him. He's a potential superstar and he's played like that already in college. He'd be the #1 pick in this draft if the words spinal stenosis weren't in his file. Jordan is next on the list of those 3 players. He has a unique skill set and that unique skill set turned into back to back All-Pac-12 1st team appearances. 6'6" 248 lbs and he was covering slot receivers at times last year. Warmack is a great prospect at G. That rules him out on the 9 pick unless about a half dozen other guys are in a bus accident together the day before the draft. Great player but at G.
I want O-Line. If we take a LT I would ship out Brick for a pick and grab a LB, WR or TE in round two. Or all three positions if we have three picks in round two which I hope we have on draft day.
