maybe the jets will go on some fairytale ride with the Garrard and win the Super Bowl. It worked for the Rams and Warner, you just never know in this league honestly.

they're called fairy tales for a reason... but we can hopelessly dream. it isn't delusion till we believe it can come to fruition.

lets make a reasonable goal: 8 wins, hows that?

Can't see Garrard fairing well here, especially having not started for the last two years. Clearly there's a reason he hasn't.

the seahawks really pride themselves on having competition so this makes sense. i still think we draft a QB this year because even John Idzik knows David Garrard isn't the answer. And also, this is the first legit backup we've had in years. Its a weird feeling lol

i cant think like that, We arent the worse team in the league. We still have a top defense and we have no idea what our offense is gonna look like. Im thinking 10-6 , and Garrard is a smart QB he doesnt turn it over alot if he stays healthy and wins the job i like this move alot

once again he WAS going to start last year for miami, above tannehill and moore, I believe non-football related injury got in the way.

he's better now, and should be alright despite not playing in the regular season for a while, its not like he's done nothing and is just coming back.

Can David Garrard beat out Mark Sanchez? In the WCO there are safety valve passes built into every play: So, can Garrard throw 5-10 yard passes to RBs & TEs without having them batted down or intercepted? Can he elevate the arc of a screen pass to go over onrushing DLs? Can he actually lead the receiver of a short pass to enable some YAC? Can he see the field, recognizing open receivers in the end zone waving to him? Can he throw it far enough to reach said receiver? Can he actually read NFL defenses, avoiding traps by opposing DBs? If tackled, can he avoid coughing the ball up?
David Garrard came to try out for the Jets, passed the test, was offered a contract, then signed it. In my mind he's already won the starting job - congratulations to him!

I like Garrard. He hasn't won the backup job, much less the starting QB job.

He is a very good person and was a good NFL QB - I hope he is healthy and can compete for a spot on the roster. Unfortunately he is highly injury prone and is unlikely to remain healthy. I'm rooting for him to make the team and stay healthy.

His most recent statistics say he is at least average in turning the ball over.

I don't think this is any reason to get excited except that our GM is making moves that make sense, plugging in a cheap option at a place where we had no depth.

Sanchez will probably start until he shits the bed. I'm guessing the Jets get our QB some how some way in 2014.

Not that flashiest signing in the world. But, we can only move up from where we are.

He's better than Sanchez. Not the QBoTF, but unless they make some unexpected deal, he'll be the best QB on the roster next year. Tebow will most-likely be released... doubt anyone is going to trade for him.

I've always liked Garrard, just don't know about his durability now and the fact that he hasn't been playing for so long.

I think it was a smart move considering cost and availability.

Yes he was going to start for the Dolphins last year until he got his knee drained the night before the first preseason game and the rest was history.

given our situation, a good signing IMO.

probably the minority opinion, but I don't see how Sanchez legitimately wins the competition w/ Garrard.. and that's more of a testament to Sanchez's incompetence.. I don't remember glowing reviews of Sanchez in camp ever.. on top of that, DG has some WC experience and was rumored to have won the starting job in a WC camp last year.

    healthy Garrard > any Sanchez

just give Rex and his D avg competence at the QB position.

My question to those who shit on this move, let me as you this...Who the fuck were you going to get? This move makes sense with what was available. Even if a guy like Flacco hit the open market, we couldn't afford him anyway. The Jets will draft another QB and you will have depth instantly. I like Garrard, I think the team got better today.

MM says that suckchiise has leg up on the qb job? does he actually watch game tape?

the only thing suckchise has is a butt up on brandon moore.

are they going to coddle him another year? :eek:hmy::shit:
