So you are going to base your entire opinion on him by a 5 minute interview by Steve Mariucci where he forgot a word in a 9 term play call and he forgot his 3rd read? C'mon now.

What difference does it make? Its not like the winning QB is going to be heads and shoulders above the rest of the competition. Considering our starting offense didnt score a single touchdown, it couldnt hurt. Just saying the idea isnt as laughable as you make it.

Ugh..don't like this. I'm still hoping we get a QB in the second or third round that people are overlooking in this 'dud' draft class

You know you have to be on top of your game during draft period. At WVU the offense only required him to to have 2 reads and a check down it. Him running a pro offense might take a while to understand. I don't have confidence in the Jets coaching him up

Responding to you in the draft forum because I don't want to derail this from Garrard any further.

Look if the Jets are in any position to draft Clowney, he's the pick.
Johnny Football...? He'll have to wait until 2015 to be eligible I think

I don't mind Garrard with the assumption that the FO doesn't intend for him to start. If he gets paid like a back-up and ends up winning the job in TC then I'm OK with it. But I think we should look to draft a QB in the 2nd.

He's eligible for the 2014 draft as he redshirted a year in 2011.

IF the bolded is true, that is the silver lining in this potential signing.

He was okay. I wasn't over the moon about him but there were good reports out of camp. The problem is Tannehill progressed so quickly that when Garrard got hurt that was it. We didn't get to see enough of him. But if he can stay healthy he's a huge upgrade over any of your other QB's.

Can we bring back Brunell. It would be a totally fair three way competition between brunell, garrard and sanchez. then they can really run some "old school" offense. (no pun intended).

Highly doubt it. Sanchez making 12M, Garrard, 2M?. Garrard would have to be significantly better to earn the starting job. I would like the signing more than anything else that's been mentioned though, if he is healthy.

Because the 4th preseason game is full if bubble guys looking to make that big hit.

You don't expose your week one guys to some random jackoff.

They discuss this every year in week 4 preseason.

Id rather have quinn than garrard because even though garrard is better quinn is younger and thus probably has a higher ceiling if they can turn him around. Wasnt Garrard saying on hard knocks that father time might be catching up with him?

Also, i do hope we draft a qb in the later rounds. We need to try to hit the jackpot.
