It's always interesting to see the big differences between people who rank the prospects. On MLB, d'Arnaud was 6.
Without the Beltran and Dickey trades, no Met cracks this list. As always, prospects are a craps shoot, but Sandy Alderson has clearly giving the Mets a shot at a brighter future. Also, Yankees desperately need a few of these position prospects to work out. Granderson and Ichiro are both on 1 year deals, we need an outfielder badly.
Watched d'Arnaud at a spring training game a couple days ago. He looked pretty solid, and I thought he called a really nice game. It was noticable, because as soon as they took d'Arnaud out of the game, the innings took way longer than they should have. It was painful after he left.
I saw a lot of D'Arnaud in Vegas last year and he was a pretty solid player. The PCL is never truly a good judge of talent though because it's a hitters league. Guys usually put up ridiculous numbers here which is why when the Dodgers were in Vegas a lot of times their better pitchers would skip Vegas altogether and go from Jacksonville right to LA. Billingsly pitched 4 innings in the PCL and Kershaw didn't at all.
Taveras is one to keep an eye on. Cards brass claim he is the best to go through their system since Pujols
