Top 9: 1. Kansas City Chiefs: Luke Joeckel, OT Texas A&M 2. Jacksonville Jaguars: Star Lotulelei, DT Utah 3. Oakland Raiders: Sharrif Floyd, DT Florida 4. Philadelphia Eagles: Eric Fisher, OT Central Michigan 5. Detroit Lions: Bjoern Werner, DE Florida State 6. Cleveland Browns: Jarvis Jones, OLB Georgia 7. Arizona Cardinals: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama 8. Buffalo Bills: Geno Smith, QB West Virginia 9. New York Jets: Damontre Moore, OLB Texas A&M Jets Draft: 1.9) Damontre Moore, OLB, Texas A&M. Obvious choice if he falls this far. Would be an obvious choice in Detroit if Avril doesn't resign but I think it's possible he's here. Dion Jordan would be my second choice. 2.9) Tyler Eiffert, TE, Notre Dame. I prefer Ertz but I think he winds up going both first and before this pick. I could see someone like Jordan Reed even leapfrogging Eiffert. 3.9) Brian Winters, OL, Kent St. Versatile lineman who I think could start right away inside. 4.9) Stefan Taylor, RB, Stanford/Christine Michael, RB, Texas A&M/ Jawan Jaimson, RB, Rutgers/ Mike Gillislee, RB, Florida/ Jonathan Franklin, RB, UCLA. In that order. Happens ever year. I think you can get a guy a this point at RB that will mesh well with Powell in the WCO. 5.9) Matt Scott, QB, Arizona. Different kind of player to compete for a backup spot. Not fair to 6.9) Brandon Bishop, S, NC St Some DB depth with potential down the road. Have to figure if you collect enough guys like him and Josh Bush someone is going to stick. 7.9) Nathan Williams, DE/OLB, Ohio St. Pass rusher type.
Kick out Scott for a WR with punt returning prowless and I can live with that. Would prefer safety to be higher addressed but I am fine with that.
I like it. OLB, G, RB, TE all need players who can roll into potential starting slots immediately. The good thing about needing G, RB, and TE, is you can find good prospects rounds 2-4. Warford or Gio in round 2 as alternative, Escobar in round 3, etc.. Lots of flexibility. I wouldn't hate taking Geno Smith at 9 either, if the FO grades him out as a first round pick. Afterall, QB is the biggest change needed to rebuild. If we don't go QB, i'd love one of those OLB's like Moore, Jones, or Jordan.
I would draft a receiver over Winters, but other than that I like it alot. Moore and Eifert, hard not to be excited about that.
Would love it if Moore fell to us at 9. Not so sure about Eifert in the second. He's a good player just think we can address TE in FA. Delanie Walker??? Like the positions you picked, but maybe shuffle em around a little. Plus there's some solid WR in this draft. Maybe Somebody like Marcus Davis in the 4/5th round. And if we're not able to get Foles from Philly, then how bout Tyler Bray? He's a little bit of a head case but the kids working on that. Definitely can't question his talent. Reminds me of a Ryan Mallett, but not quite as bad of a head case. Opinions????
