With two guards playing at the same level, one has more upside and is essentially "free" (a vet min) then the next logical step for a cash strapped franchise is to say goodbye to Mr. Slauson.

I've said this all along. Ducasse is a running game beast but in the Passing game he is a liability.

We have not seen him make strides big enough to become a starting Guard in the NFL IMO... Oh, and forget about him @ tackle. The guy has ZERO lateral movement and the trial @ the Tackle position was a huge waste of time.

Will he pan out? He might but at the risk of getting your QB killed.

Vlad was a waste of a pick, he's nothing more than a project. I really question his football IQ also, he hasn't improved in pass protection at all. Bring in Chance Warmack and watch the offensive line improve drastically.

  9. Vlad continues to show strides in his development. He looked good including in pass pro in limited duty all year long. Those who are criticizing need to re-watch the tape. He's a plus run blocker & rarely requires help in pass pro. Now he needs to step up & show he can perform consistently as a starter.

Exactly, if their playing at the same level, and one has more upside, and one is cheaper. Pick the obvious.

So you're good with Warmack & Slauson at G?

They should still keep Vlad because he's a big body and can help out in the run game. We can run more Jumbo packages with Vlad as a "TE" (Like the 49ers this season). Moore played well this season I thought, but we will still need a replacement at that RG spot eventually. Is Moore even coming back? That's a big question mark. Slauson is a FA also - Bill Callahan has more power over in Dallas so could he make a push to get Slauson over in Dallas? Vlad and Slauson starting at the guard spots is not a good idea in my opinion. They are at best mediocre or average.

Having Warmack at the LG spot would solidify the left side, that's going to make Brick a better player also, and bring him back to the high level we expect from him week in and week out. I think back to when Faneca was there at LG and how much better Brick was because of it. He needs help IMO, as well as Mangold. Nothing wrong with having another first rounder on the offensive line.

get a new feature back in the 2nd round that can run, block and catch and we got a legit weapon for the WCO out of the back-field.
