His stock has dropped and this is a way to get back into the top half of Rd 1. I'm not thrilled of watching a QB in shorts and a T Shirt throwing under no pressure. The QB position drills are one of the least realistic workouts at the combine.
I agree, I thought the interceptions he threw throughout the season were back-breakers. Jets shouldn't look at him, but I find it funny that Geno Smith doesn't even want to throw at the combine. I think his stock has taken a big hit as well
He should have come out after his junior year. His stock dropped BIG TIME because of his senior year. I still wouldn't draft him or any other USC QB.
He was going up against Luck and RGIII if he came out last year. He was obviously banking on having a better year this year and it just didn't happen.
I don't like barkley much, but if he is there in the second, I wouldn't complain. Lot of reasons not to like him but I doubt he collapses like Sanchez did this year and last. He fits the offense well and has tools. Not saying I would pick him in the second, just saying that he should definitely be considered and wouldn't be angry if they got him. Everyone says we need to get our guy next year but unless we are awful (which I don't see us being) we will be at least 6-10 again and won't have a top 3 pick. It would cost A LOT to get one of those top three picks then and it would save us a lot if we could find our guy this year.
Monday morning QBing. As it was said earlier, he didn't want to compete with Luck & RG3. MB took a chance and didn't workout.
USC QBs all hit there highs in college. He won't be doing all the drills as of last news I heard and wouldn't change my thought on him even if he aced them. NO UCS QB, including the one we already have.
6th round pick. Hey, I didn't want Jets to draft him at any of the picks, so that's a two grade upgrade, ok? (UDFA signee -> 7th round -> 6th)
So this was on twitter this morning: @nfldraftscout: Text I received from a scout this morning: Matt Barkley will not get past the Arizona #Cardinals at No. 7 overall EDIT: I'm searching around and can't find anything conclusive about Barkley. The best thing I could find was that teams were very very impressed
What do people here think of Barkley? What about Nassib, Glennon, Manuel, Bray, etc? I want an honest opinion so please dont start foolish arguments just an honest evaluation.
I hope the Barkley bandwagon picks up steam. Then if he falls to 9 maybe it will produce a trade down scenario for Idzik.
Can't see many teams in the teens willing to move up for him. Best case scenario is he goes ahead of 9 and pushes someone else down.
