I guess it all depends on whether he wants to cash out one last time before he retires or whether he wants another ring. I doubt the Pats overpay him unless they think he can help develop some of their young safeties.

He was also on NFL 32 today. Answered all questions very well. Said the Jets grade on handling the Tebow situation was an A+ because they kept everything in house and the circus portrayal was only from the outside. Said the locker room was really tight this year. He has a pet monkey named Gucci.

That's because he hasn't played for Belichick. Yet.

This has been his only full season in the league. I think teams will look at that before throwing big money at him and we'll be able to resign him for the 2.5 million Eric Smith would be getting. I think we can pay that for player as good as Landry.

Sign Landry for $2.5 mil ? Are you serious ? He made $3.5 mil this year IIRC, and that was a short term contract due to his history of injuries. After remaining injury free and playing like he did all season, he's going to look to be paid and he'll get it.

And that sounds even more idiotic. You are a fan of any QB but Sanchez? Really? Any other QB?

I'll be impressed when you can post something- anything about the Jets that is not related to Sanchez and when you finally amazingly realize that there are other positions on a football team besides QB. I think I am expecting too much

On the back of what ended up being a Pro Bowl season, Landry has positioned himself to get paid. He won't be taking a hometown discount with the Jets because in his eyes his stock is at an all-time high after he proved he could handle the rigors of an NFL season by playing 96.6 percent of the Jets' defensive snaps.
Only the tape doesn't back up his performance. Eighty-eight tackles represent a big number, but his 4.7 run stop percentage was only 14th among safeties despite his spending 46.2 percent of his snaps in the box. He also got beat for 16 first downs and four touchdowns, the 11th-highest number of all safeties in coverage. Sure Landry can put a big hit on a receiver at times, but don't let those big plays fool you. He's not an elite, difference-making player, and he misses too many tackles (his 13 were 12th highest among safeties).

I think you are definitely right. Ive seen him put big hits and big wiffs on tackles by taking a bad angle or by nit wrapping up. The only reason we are so high on Landry is bcuz of his physical play and due to the fact our safeties sucked so bad last year.

Id rather Revis get his money than Landry. Get rid of E. Smith bring up on of our young safeties and draft one in the 2nd round after we draft an explosive rb/ wr/ play maker.

Landry's going to get a mid-range star salary, which for a safety is going to turn into about $6M a season for 4 seasons. He'd be worth more, like $8M a year range, if he didn't have the injury history and if the NFL wasn't evolving away from the kind of head-rattling hits that he specializes in.

I'd be thrilled if we could somehow bring LaRon back, trade Revis and let LaRon assume the role of face of the defense.

Laron landry isn't half the player Darrelle Revis is. I like Laron, he's a good player and I'd love to have him back at the right price but he's going to get overpaid by someone. There is no way I want to give up a top 3 defensive player in this game for a decent safety.

I believe we are likely trading Revis anyway. I was really on the fence about trading Revis early on but the more I think about it the more I think it's best for the overall team given Revis' demands.

I don't believe we are unless we get blown away. I think there is a better chance we trade Cro than Revis.

It just comes down to the fact of Revis's demands vs what we need as a team. I'd be open to trading Cro, and was from the start, but believe for the development of the overall roster Revis has to be traded.

I believe Revis is the best player in Jets history, the last time we drafted a HOFer prior to Revis(who will be a HOFer) was John Riggins who spent most of his career elsewhere. I don't think the Jets want that to happen again, I believe they will find a way to keep him long term and rebuild around him on defense- though not much rebuilding is needed. we will have a dynamic DL, we need LB and S help.

Certainly there are pro's to keeping Revis and I fully recognize the benefits of it. I am in no way AGAINST Darrelle Revis. But $16MM per year is ludacris for a CB. I guess I'd rather trade him now, get a solid return for him and build a more balanced football team.

If the Jets do plan to keep Revis no matter what then yes Cro needs to be traded this offseason.

What TNJet was saying is that he doesn't like Sanchez. He is a Sanchez hater, like everybody else. Being a Sanchez hated doesn't automatically qualify you as a Tebot.

Sanchez put us back 3-5 years with his awful play, if you could quit licking Sanchez's nutsack maybe you could see that.

WE ARE REBUILDING BECAUSE WE CHOSE MARK SANCHEZ WITH A #5 OVERALL PICK IN THE FIRST ROUND.

It also doesn't help that his enabler is still the HC.

    Have a nice day.
