Apparently it will launch some time this year. However, it's focused on social gaming rather than hardware upgrades. Do people care that much about social media that they would rather have that than upgrades to the actual gaming? http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/01/wsj-playstation-4-will-launch-this-year/
Who cares about consoles now they're obsolete before they release. Buy / Upgrade your computer you'll be alot better off Edit: On that note Steam ( Online download source for all games ) might be releasing its own console in the future
I had to pretty much cold-turkey after my son was born last May. I loved that PS3. Beautiful piece of machinery.
Ya its understandable but Gaming on computers just offers more, Online, Graphics, Titles(almost all titles are release for PC) like i said my opinion though they are a huge rip off
Console do have way better games then the PC such as: Heavy Rain Uncharted Halo 4 Metal Gear Solid 4 Journey Red Dead Redemption Gears of Wars 2-3 Ratchet and Clank Killzone Last of Us
:shit: I just waited some more after I heard the rumors about PS4 and XBOX 720 I am going to wait until Black Friday to get either of above two.
Sadly, I probably will not get it. I have kind of grown out of gaming. I still play Madden and NHL on my PS3, but that is basically it.
I will be buying the PS4. I still think they should hold off, as they are still so much they can do with it. At least hold off another year or 2.
So upgrading your PC spending up to $500 every few years isn't a rip off? Believe me, I am a PC guy but if anything, keeping up with PC graphics to utilize the games potential is much more a rip off then spending 200-300 bucks until the next big thing comes along all while playing the same games at comparable graphics. I built a PC about 5-6 years ago and the specs blow away a 360 or a PS3. Prior to that I would upgrade every few years or so and the cost just didn't make sense in the long run. Your opinion about consoles being a huge rip off does not hold water... at all. PS3 is the biggest entertainment value out there and when it was released it was far ahead of its time in terms of what the console offered. FYI I play 360 most (friends/multi), PS3 single player games and exclusives, PC - can play most current games but mostly use for old school system emulators and a porn machine.
My daughter was born right as I was getting into the original Modern Warfare. my wife put a pillow on my lap and my daughter on the pillow while I played through Deathmatch after Deathmatch. As she got older, my daughter's favorite thing in the world was sitting with me while I played RE4 HD, asking me questions about the little girl. Playing games with one child was never a problem, but since my son was born 1 year ago the game time has dwindled away. every once in a while I will go on a playing binge; I was replaying the original Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 from the PS1 until my son got hold of the disc and scratched it up. I recently upgraded the HD in my PS3 to 400GB just so I can put all my digital movies on it and get rid of my dvds, so I will likely be a very late adapter to the PS4.
At 46 years old and I think its fair to say that my days of hardcore gaming are over. Had I been a 20 year old then I think I would absolutely love this idea. I don't get the time anymore to be on as much as I'd like, and yesterday had the misfortune (first time in over a year) to end up playing some gobshite who went for it on every 4th down....(I quit after the third time he did it) He ran the same plays every time on O and was clueless on D. My point being, whats the point of more 'online gaming experiences', when you still get assholes like this playing? I still think as a console that the PS3 is head and shoulders above the rest, but thats just me. I'll be interested to see exactly what upgrades actually happen
