EXACTLY. Its not like we need that money freed up now, we're all not expecting much next year anyway. Don't we take a cap hit this year if we get rid of him? This doesn't help us short term or long term unless we are getting 3 first round picks back.

its not going to happen. no team is going to trade for him without getting him signed to a long term deal first. and that team is not going to give up equal value if they have to shell out major $. jets might try but i doubt this come to fruition.

side note: why is woody dealing with this, let the g.m. decide whats best

The question isn't how much more could he want, but how much more can he get.

Same thing the Skins thought about Bailey, look it up. Another thought, why give up picks and a fat contract for a guy off ACL surgery? That will be a huge gamble

Revis is going to want about 15 Mil a year, you wait and see, and some team will pay for it.

Jets have no leverage when he's a URFA next year......it really sucks, but that's the way it is.

Dwight Howard forced his way out of Orlando and is about to force his way out of LA.

It's also a huge gamble doing nothing and losing him next year for nothing.

Either way the Jets are screwed.

When he signed that 4 year contract, anyone with a brain knew Revis was gone in 2014.

Someone said 1st round 2013 pick and a 2014 conditional pick based on performance. I'd be happy with that for Revis. We can then use that pick based on whats on the board.

The Jets are going to suck for a long time. Sad. Might as well give up and get a new hobby folks. I am not kidding either. This news tonight has really angered me.

Good idea. Have to at least see what his value is. If Revis wants to have a normal, top contract, sign him. If he wants to up his salary again and get into QB territory, he just doesn't have that much of an impact on the game.

I rather lose him for nothing than just giving him up

The organization should do whatever it takes to re-sign the greatest Jet ever, the greatest CB ever. Not just trade him for picks who may end up busting anyway. Revis has been our best player.............since I can remember why give him up

You guys have to realize that he's likely gone after the 2013 season anyway. It only makes sense to try and get some value for him instead of letting him walk for nothing. We cannot afford to keep being held hostage by Revis and his regular hold outs demanding QB money.

Looking into seeing what he could get us in a trade is not bad business. I have a Revis Jersey and he is by far my favorite player on the team....Its not like I want to lose him, but if Mario Williams can get $60 Million in just signing bonus money alone what is Revis going to ask for? That type of commitment is crazy for anybody other then an elite qb. Adrian Peterson and Larry Fitzgerald got crazy contracts for non-qbs and even they did not get that much in signing bonuses. If we doubt we can afford him we need to examine what get what we can for him now.

An Awesome, once in a lifetime player that will come at an awesome, once in a lifetime contract. Maybe it will be on our team, we'll see.

Revis is the best player this organization has ever had but it's not a terrible idea.

I hope you realize that makes no sense what so ever.
