Okay, so I have to provide a quick disclaimer to state that I do have a great degree of respect for the little Hobbit, and think he's an outstanding athlete and all, but can we all finally agree that the Jets DID NOT make a franchise- altering decision in cutting this short slow white guy and that he's NOT the difference in an elite offense?
Woodhead made made some pretty ridiculous plays to covert 3rd-and-long situations this season, but no, obviously he isn't going to make any offense elite. I'm not sure why you are posting this now though. He missed the Texans game due to injury, and was only on the field for a handful of snaps this past Sunday for the same reason.
Yes, I do. What is the point of this thread? To discuss whether releasing Woodhead was a franchise altering mistake for the Jets? That was what I assumed based on what you wrote, and I responded accordingly. It's a weird time to bring up this conversation, because nobody has seen him play any significant number of snaps for a few weeks now.
What's his skin color got to do with it? It's simple, our system was a power running system. He didn't fit, but he's a great fit for the Pats to help compliment Brady and Ridley. Woodhead wouldn't have had nearly the same impact on the Jets as he did on the Patriots. He just fits their system better. It doesn't really have to do with him being slow or not having much talent.
