in 2011 and 10 the offense was 13th and 2009 it was 19th. in 08 it was 9th. In 07 it was 25th and we all know that that season was a mess. in 06 it was 18th. so i'm not sure how his offense is 'consistently in the bottom half of the league'.

    2006: 25th yards, 18th points
    2007: 26th yards, 25th points
    2008: 16th yards, 9th points
    2009: 20th yards, 17th points
    2010: 11th yards, 13th points
    2011: 25th yards, 13th points
    2012: 23rd yards, 25th points

5 out of 7 years his offense was in the bottom half of the legue in yards.
4 out of 7 years his offense was bottom half of the league in points.

That's consistently being in the bottom half of the league IMO. A lot of those years he had a top special teams unit to help with field position too.

Even if you consider that debatable, show me what is their to praise? The fact that he's average once and a while? Cool.

so the one time he had an elite QB "it wasn't his offense" interesting to know. Which proves my point in that when you have a good QB, plays tend to get executed better.

he wasn't even here in 2012.

from 2009-2011 the Jets had Mark fucking Sanchez and the offense was middle of the pack, that's pretty decent.

Before Favre got hurt the Jets offense was decent.

I used the Rams offense for 2012 since he was there. Those are all of the offense rankings for his career. When he had a HOF QB who told him to fuck off we're not using this shit he was able to scrape the top 10 in points scored. Other than that his offenses have been shit. He also sucked with Pennington, Clemens and Bradford. It wasn't just Sanchez dude.

Per-season usually does not tell us much....but the first 3-4 games might be very telling as to which way we go schemes wise.
One big if at the end of pre-season will be to find out who our QB is?

he was here in 2006 too. Guys like to point to Pennington's great 08 season in Miami but they were ranked 21st in total offense that saeson.

So my understanding is that the one time the offense looked good it was in spite of him, but when we had average QB's it was all his fault. You guys aren't being fair. If Schotty (according to you) was the reason for the Jets bad offense then he should get credit for the positives too. But of course it doesn't work that way.

The Rams have Sam Bradford who at this time is an average QB. Coaches are as good as their QB. Shanahan was this close to getting fired until RGIII came on board in DC. So no amount of play calling is gonna make this offense under Mark be dynamic.

Posters also forget that Matt Millen was his GM when he was a HC.

Although, I'm not on the Sanchez is completely done side of the spectrum, I have to agree with you here. After 25 years of being a Jets fan, this past year was the first time I did NOT and could NOT watch a couple of games through completion. To have re-watched some of the games this past year does reek of masochism or sadism.

The simple fact is, he is worth minus 10 QBR points.

But stop hijacking the thread

I included the 2006 numbers. Bottom half of the league, as per usual.

Bottom line, Schotty needed a HOF QB to crack the top 10 in points scored and managed it ONCE. Mornhinweg has done it regularly and has done it with guys like Jeff Garcia, Donovan McNabb and Mike Vick - all of whom are better than Sanchez but not nearly HOF level QB's.

Josh McDaniel was considered an offensive genius in NE, he goes to Denver and he is considered a failure, he goes back to NE and he's a "genius" again. McNabb is an hof calibur QB but that's another discussion. Vick and Garcia are/were good QB's.

Besides Pennington in 06 and Favre in 08 Schotty never had a good QB to work with.

Mornhinweg is a good OC, and he´s got a task at hand here. No QB, aside from Holmes and Kerlay (and maybe Keller) no sikill players, and a backup RB, who doesn´t fit his system (Bilal.). If he can take this bunch to a top 20 O, he´s done a hell of a Job, and if we still miss the POs, it´s Ryan´s fault.

I think McNabb and Vick were coached up. They were not the most accurate of QBs. MM and Reid were successful with them by keeping their inaccuracy and poor decision making in check. Garcia I agree didn't need much coaching.

Shotty was awful, he dragged down Pennington and Farve's numbers. The fact that Sporano sucked doesnt mean shotty didnt suck. They can both suck.

What Reid and MOrningwood did with Kolb was pretty good too.

You've got that right, and I doubt Keller is around in '13. I'd love to see the Jets go heavy on offense in the draft ... go all offense even. Let MM shop for some groceries because he surely will need some.

Let Rex fix the defensive holes with low priced FA's.

So, how was he with number one overall Sam Bradford?

4 points better in completion percentage than sanchez

Now, in the year subsequent to being under Schotty.,, how did the qBs you mention fare in QBR?

    About plus 10 right?

Yeah either schottys great, or you're a moron...clue?

    Schottys not great.
