Yeah he's no Revis, he's no Cromartie, but the defense is 2nd in passing yards for a reason. Its not 2nd in the NFL because of only Cro, or the safety's, or our outstanding pass rush.

You guys are too spoiled with Revis and now Cromartie being shut down corners.

I saw someone post "there's Wilson, allowing another completion" really? Truth is, he would start in more than half the the teams in the NFL at least as the #2.

Everyone is always on him for the fact that he was a first rounder and many feel he hasnt lived up to his draft status, but you are right probably could start on half the teams in the NFL right now

I think he rubs some people the wrong way. He does that fist pump celebration all the time even when he gets burned and the QB overthrows the wide open WR.

I hate Tone's first down ball drop too.

Kyle Wilson blew the 99-yard Cruz TD last year that killed our season.

    He's got not field presence.

Wilson isn't CB material imo. He isn't psychical enough and he never can get himself in proper position to make a play. one double move by the receiver and he gets burned on the play.

If Wilson was a third rounder, he would have been a solid CB for us. But being a first rounder makes him a below average CB. Standards are set according to what you paid for the player. If Gholston was a 7th rounder, he would have never had a bust label n no one on this board would have blamed the CS/FO for the pick.

For the CB draft he is in, he was picked in the right spot since it was a weak DB draft.

The guy flat out sucks, i don't care where he was picked.

He even celebrates when he's 10 yards off his coverage and the reciever just drops the ball.

Obviously because the WR's that line up with him hear his footsteps. Way more effective then jamming at the line.

Kyle Wilson is really good as CB#3 out of the slot. He's also stepped up big time to hold down CB#2 slot this season. He's under appreciated.

At the same time, I readily admit that he really annoys me sometimes with the the stupid fist pump & clapping he does. WR will beat him & the QB will make a bad throw then Kyle starts clapping/screaming/jumping & smack talking like he locked down the WR that play. I'm totally OK with him celebrating when he makes the play. But its the celebration when he didn't make the play but benefits from bad execution by QB that irks me. That's a personal thing with me & not a knock on Kyle Wilson's game though.

Wilson plays like most non elite corners in this league. If you watch other teams, you really do see he helps this team but he will get targeted more than Revis or Cromartie because both of those guys are top 1 and top 5 at what they do

Agree with your points. I think once Revis & Cro are gone, Jets fans expectations on what is an average CB will come back to reality. Personally, I've got no problems with Kyle Wilson's game at all.

I get annoyed by the excess celebration but that's a personal pet peeve of mine.

Yeah, like I'm watching the Ravens and Giants game, and man could they use a player like Wilson.

That doesn't make any sense. He was picked in the first round because Jets thought he was the best player available at the time. We didn't need him when we drafted him as we had a huge need for a pass rushing LB (as always). Fact is, he was not the BPA at the spot, although most NFL scouts agreed with the pick. Most scouts agreed with the Gholston pick as well but that doesn't mean it was the right pick.

Well my look at it was that we were going CB no matter what. If that was the case, Wilson was the correct pick.

I think he breathes a sigh of relief when a pass does not come his way. He is beaten on a regular basis and his celebration is far too excessive for his level of talent or ability. He is a mid level corner and what amplifies the "Kyle bashing" is the expectancies yet to be met.

1st rounder who isnt a viable starter in this league...he gets beat way too often and looks lost in coverage often...he also cannot open up his hips..

if he was a 4th rounder and on then i dont think people would be so down on him.

He defintiely is a viable starter, not as a #1 corner, but as a #2. Many teams would take him.

Many people are down on him because we probably have wathced one of the greatest corners play for 3 seasons and then watched another corner step up and fill those shoes quite well.
