The NFL Network made a top 10 list of the most iconic images in NFL history ( in light of the potential end of the world tomorrow) and the #1 image was Joe Namath running off the field after winning SB III waving his finger.

The two most iconic Jets Images...
    Joe Namath's #1 icon image.
    Mark Sanchez's Butt Fumble Image....

Two images that will live forever.

The Ass-Fumble perfectly captures how poor Sanchez's peripheral vision is.

You people turn something good into another reason to bash Sanchez. Unbelievable. Isn't there anything else to talk about?

Exactly he had to have been looking down the field I'm really not sure what he was doing/looking at on that play. Common trend with Nacho.

Most of the history books/articles I've read are in agreement about two major particular events really helping NFL begin its movement to national spotlight.

1 - Namath/Jets victory over Colts in SB III
2 - Unitas/Colts victory over Giants in NFL Championship Game.

Although I wasn't alive for the Namath victory, it does give me some pride as a Jets fan to know one of the most iconic figures in Sports history & one of the biggest turning points in NFL history belong to the Jets.

Hopefully, the day will come when our franchise can add other great moments.

edit: this is the video clip of them going through their top 10 videos.

Should've included the YA Tittle kneeling in endzone bloodied & no helmet

If they really needed to add that, it should have been number 10.

Yes I remember to this day JWN trotting off the field with his finger in the air signaling we were #1.

IMO sorry to bust your bubble that under the present owner & GM & HC your hope will not occur
