its just so goddamn typical of the jets that our best player would be the one to end the season for us even after we had a chance to win with the horrible performance by our qb.

what would also be typical would be to fire rex and start again. while i would agree that the offense needs a big change, including a new qb and possibly new oc yet again, but considering the circumstances of the season, rex has done a good job with the team. mark sanchez shit the bed and threw away the season along with his career. but that shouldn't be a reason to fire rex and send this team back to square one.

i feel like the team may be at a critical juncture. despite all of the success of this current regime we are facing similar obstacles. maybe its time to start reacting differently. i still believe in rex, and i think that if there were any coach to stand behind, it would be him.

Mangold has NOT been our best player this season. Mangold has been average.

And Rex has NOT donea good job " all things considered". He has done a horrific job.

I think he gets about half the blame in my book that snap was too low to expect it to be fielded cleanly. Then part of the blame on Sanchez for trying to move before he scooped it, and a small portion to shit luck when Powell kicked it.

It was a bad snap right about the top of the ankles

Think you need to check out the replay. Snap was low but Sanchez still should've had it.

edit. Figured I'd just put the replay in here:

Does it really matter that he fumbled the ball? Had he thrown it, it would have more than likely been intercepted anyway. That's just the way it works with Sanchez. If he starts next year for this team, Woody should fire himself!

Looking at the replay, I just don't understand how he didn't keep hold of the ball.

He was stepping back with his left foot on the snap, when i was low he had to lean forward throwing off his balance and bringing up his right toe which hits the ball knocking it out of his fingertips. That's why he falls down after losing it, his balance was screwed as soon as he had to reach below his knees.

That was a shitty moment for a low snap but if it Sparano fired so be it.

Agreed. With Sanchez forced to find the endzone, it's more likely he throws an interception than gets them to the goal line. This was gonna be a loss no matter what.

Sanchez could have fell on the ball. Like what they teach you in pee wee for gods sake. Live to play another down. sanchez has been making stupid mistakes for 2 years now. How many 1 yd interceptions from nose tackles?? He was playing like a no talent hake for 2 years because he did not have the best line,wr and running game.

You really can't make this stuff up. Bad snap fumbled and before Sanchez can pick it back up Powell boots it away.

He was looking up, not at the ball. Probably looking at the one receiver he salected for that play.
