It's a good thing that Option doesn't work in the NFL, especially in week 14 when teams have gotten plenty of tape on it. I mean, you wouldn't want QBs to bust off on 72 yard or 50 yard TD runs or anything like that.

The more I read ur stuff the more I feel sorry for u. I'm going to try this one more time. Tebow sucks at throwing the football. Guys in that article are 10 times better at throwing the ball.

Umm, let's see. 49'ers beat Miami yesterday, Washington beat the Ravens and Carolina beat the previously 11-1 Atlanta Falcons.

    Next question ?

So with the read option successful and Tebow still on the bench with no team wanting him as their QB I have to wonder what's the next excuse you groupies will have.

You do realize that whether you like a single person in the band, or the band your still a groupie, right? Just because you like a team, makes you no less fanatical. No need to call them groupies as you are one. Not to smart are you, or is it that you don't like the fact that they just enjoy a player and that you are jealous you don't have one of your own.

The personal attacks are funny, but it is probably an Oedipus complex, that leaves you with self-esteem issues you project on others, because they are happy. See, anyone can name call. :rofl2:

    Have a good day.

RGIII - Far more athletic than Tebow. Pinpoint accuracy when throwing the football. Spectacular mechanics. Fantastic in the pocket. Much better arm than Tebow. Shows infinitely more promise than Tim Tebow as a long term quarterback solution in his very first year.

Newton - Far more athletic than Tebow. Spectacular mechanics. Fantastic in the pocket. Much better arm than Tebow. Shows infinitely more promise than Tim Tebow as a long term quarterback solution in his second year in the league.

Kaepernick - Far more athletic than Tebow. Spectacular mechanics. Fantastic in the pocket. Much better arm than Tebow. Though still very rough, he shows infinitely more promise than Tim Tebow as a long term quarterback solution in his second year in the league, and is maintaining a 69% completion percentage in his first 4 starts.

Tebow - Lumbering downhill running style indicative of taking punishment, hence him breaking ribs twice in three years. Poor statistical results despite an offensive system custom built for him. Horrible mechanics. Terrible accuracy on anything under 15 yards. Run-first mentality. Ball security issues - hes a fumble machine. Great work ethic and will to win.

The biggest reason that RGIII, Newton and Kaepernick are succeeding is because all three actually scare teams with their throwing ability. Tim Tebow doesn't. It's a pretty simple formula.

Exactly, even though he can win games, he will never be a starting QB unless he improves his accuracy issues. Good post. Although the other QB's beside RG3 are turnover machines also.

Pretty much sums it up right there. The other QBs are huge throwing threats and can hit receivers all over the field. They can kill you a thousand different ways. Can hit the mid range passes as well as anywhere else.

Then there's Tebust. Have to limit the mid range passes because he struggles to read defenses, and has little anticipation. (Which is why passes are often BEHIND receivers.) Have to run more because there is better than a 50% chance of putting the ball into the dirt making pass attempts a wasted play.

Take away the run-option. Those other QBs can still hurt you with their arms. Take that away from Tebow, you lead the league in three and outs and put the ball a lot. Sure, he might hit a nice strike downfield here and there, but nowhere NEAR enough production to rely on without a defense playing lights out keeping scores to a minumum.

Tangibly, those other QBs bring a lot to the table. Tebow really just brings running to the table. Much easier to stop when the rest of the league figured out he can't throw.

The read option could become the way of the future.

Dual-threat QBs put a lot of pressure on defenses and guys like Griffin and Newton could end up dominating this league for a long time, if they can hold up through all the hits.

Not sure why this article was posted in the Tebow ghetto though, or what the OP Teblower is trying to prove; because outside of the obligitory Tebow reference in the first sentence, this article has nothing to do with Tim Tebow.

It's about NFL QBs RGIII and Newton - guys who have the ability actually pass the ball effectively. Griffin is light years ahead of Tebow in all facets of his game, they don't belong in the same conversation. Newton is limited by his awareness, but still vastly more talented in the passing game and even more polished.

Nobody is really saying specifically the read option offense can't succeed in the NFL, they are saying a Tebow-led offense can't. Griffin's offense is effective because it has all the same throws in its playbook that an NFL QB makes, with some nice read option wrinkles within it. Tebow couldn't run that playbook because he much more of a flawed passer than Griffin and cannot make those throws that Washington's playbook calls for..

Essentially, what I'm saying is that this article isn't about Tebow at all, because Tebow DOESN'T run the same offense as Griffin and Newton. Just because he runs with the football doesn't mean he can do the same things as those 2. Maybe it just means he's good at running with the ball - - there's positions for that (RB/FB)

There was a constant stream and chorus of analysts, "experts" and "armchair QB" fans saying just exactly that all last season when the Broncos were on their winning streak. You have a short memory or are being intentionally dishonest.

    Ummm no.

Tebow's offense in Denver last season was nothing like Newton's and is nothing like Griffin's. They actually are effective throwing passes and run an NFL offense.

The experts were saying Tebow's offense couldn't succeed in the NFL, and that it wasn't an NFL offense, etc. Because it wasn't, it's not an NFL read offense, it was based around Tebow's strengths/hiding his weaknesses, and is nothing like the read option wrinkles that we see from Griffin/Newton.

The fact that in the article, Fox said an offense like that can succeed, and yet dumped your Hero, should be proof enough to you.

Yeah, probably didn't have anything to do with the availability of Peyton Manning, who probably about 25 NFL teams would have dumped their current QB's for. Good story.

Why did the Broncos feel it was the best interrest of the team that Tebow be somewhere else?

You'd think a young guy like that with all this alleged potential would have been in a GREAT position to build for success behind Manning.

as it sat, the Broncos traded him away for a half eaten sandwich and then signed Caleb Hanie and drafted a dime a dozen second round QB.

Elway even traded him to a team that is usually in the conversation for a playoff spot in the AFC. Even gave Tebow the option to got there or J-Ville even though Tebow tried to lie and tried to make it sound like Elway made that decision. guess he didn't want to piss off his home town knowing he'd probably have to end up playing there someday.

What are you talking about???? I thought Peyton Manning isn't that good.

I got this from all the threads I've been reading here in the Tebow ghetto that suggests Denver stocked up on talent all over the place, much more than Manning. He can't be that good of QB, their success is directly related to the new assistant equipment manager and new binders for their playbooks they got in the offseason, more than anything.

Oh that's right it goes both ways (much like you Teblowers do) here in the Tebow ghetto.

--Peyton Manning is awesome, only when the argument is about why they got rid of Tebow....
--Peyton Manning is just another guy in a long list of additions that explain why Denver is a much better team this year - it's certainly NOT because they had a massive upgrade at the QB position.

Speaking of the option and wildcats...

    http://www.theonion.com/articles/tim-tebow-puts-empty-gatorade-cups-in-wildcat-form,30658/

    Bwahahahahhahahahha!!! Classic.

JACKSONVILLE, FL—Jets quarterback Tim Tebow reportedly sat alone during Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, arranging empty Gatorade cups in the wildcat formation and running plays across the bench. “I walked over there and he was muttering something to one of the cups about it having ‘unique skills’ that would make the wildcat a powerful offensive weapon,” said Jets defensive lineman Mike DeVito, adding that there was also a Tebow-voiced analyst cup that said cups in the wildcat provided the only chance to win the game. “At one point he had all those cups join together in a circle, and he closed his eyes like he was praying with them.” With the game on the line in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter, Jets coach Rex Ryan turned to Tebow to ask for the cups back, as team members who were playing in the game were reportedly thirsty.
