Plenty of times. He hit Hilliard today who dropped it. He hit Cumberland here. He also hit Kerley on a slant with his. I don't really this game well but those are off the top of my head. He hit Kerry Rhodes twice last week too. And when Holmes and Braylon were catchign the ball, much more often. I don't think that's a coincidence. The receivers he worked with the most, he has better timing with.
Sanchez did not win the game. Sanchez was the reason the game was so close. The defense won the game along with the coaching staff taking the ball out of Sanchez's hands in the 2nd half. Sanchez had everything to do with why were down 3-0 at the half and had nothing to do with our two TD drives. Yes he made a completion to a wide open TE. A completion that any normal QB would make 80-90% of the time. What was special about the completion was that Sanchez made it and that unlike most Sanchez completions it was not 2-4 yards behind the receiver.. If we go by Sanchez standards yes, good job. If we go by normal QB standards it is expected to complete passes to wide open receivers. What won the game for us is we took the ball out of his hands and refused to give him the opportunity to lose the game for us. We set up the Jax letting them know under no circumstances would Sanchez be allowed to throw the ball. Which is why JAx sold out on the run and left Cumbelrand was so wide open. Sanchez should have been replaced today. He was terrible again and almost cost us another game. Fortunately the CS had enough and said no more. Hopefully they will go a bit further next week and put him on the bench where he belongs.
This game did nothing but make Sanchez look even worse. Can anyone name one team that HIDES their QB as much as the Jets hide Mark? Its unbelievable how little faith they have in Sanchez. Granted, he hasn't played like a top 5 pick by far but if he is going to be your QB, let him try to make a few players. If you want someone in their to just hand off, mine as well put in Tebow or McElroy....

. I agree with most of what you said but that pass was clutch and on point. That was a dime pass, that pass seams easy but is really not. You have to throw it over the middle with the rt amount of arc and have enough velocity to get it before the safeties react. Good pass and that was a good catch also bcuz it's over the shoulder and hands catch
If other teams could run the ball for 4-5 ypc, I don't think they would throwing much. Do we say the Pats are hiding Brady when they just ran the ball over and over again to crush our D? No we say they found something works and won't stop until it is stopped. If our run game is working so well, why not keep running it? When we needed a big first down, we asked him to throw it. This was supposed to be how the team worked in the place. OL creating a push, run game going well, Sanchez making throws when needed to. Special teams doing nothing wrong, defense playing really good. That was how the team was supposed to be built. Does this mean the Jets don't trust Sanchez, probably. But if our run game was going off like that, I would want them to never stop until it was stopped. That's why we all were mad at Schotty. Run for 6, run for 3, run for 7 run for 4. Then Schotty would call 3 passes all of the shotgun and not PA.
Sanchez did enough to not lose his job. I wish he could actually PROTECT the football. But besides that, when he needed to throw, for the most part he threw.
That's always what Rex wanted when building this team. Strong defense, strong OL, strong run, QB who can make throws when needed. IT goes against what the NFL currently is, but BAL, HOU, SF all employ similar strategies except with better OL, better QB, and better RBs, and probably better Ds
Not reading this whole thread, so if this was already posted sorry, but.... Sanchez in a very real sense is playing for his job. Not just that abstract shit they talk about on ESPN. Think about it, even though our seasons been rocky there are a lot of worse records put there. And there's really only two QBs worth drafting. Neither of them will be there at >10. If you take Tyler Wilson over Mingo, you fucked up. Sanchez wins one or two more games, he's the QB next year. Put money on it.
If he doesn't he probably still is in the competition for QB with the weak draft class, weak FA class, weak backups on our team, Oh and that untradeable contract...
Good points. The strategy can work, we just don't have the talent (INCLUDING AT QB) to be as good as those other teams. They can also lead to a longer successful run while waiting to find that "franchise" QB since the other units of your team can carry others
Sanchez didn't suck today, but he didn't do anything special either. Great job at handing the ball off, though.
Definitely get rid of Holmes. Maybe let Keller go if he wants star TE money because he's nowhere near a star. Hill we just have to live with for another season but if he's busting at the end of next year they need to do the cut early for a change instead of living on hope and wasting a roster space the way they did with Gholston and are still doing with Ducasse.
Hill won't be a bust but the Jets put way too much on his plate too early in his career. A solid majority of NFL receivers don't emerge until their third or fourth years. To expect a raw WR rookie to simply step in and fill the void left by Edwards and to a lesser extent Plaxico was an absolutely awful miscalculation by the Jets. Hill should never have been allowed to be considered anything higher than the #4 until he was consistently making plays and proving that having him on the field is better than having him off. The Giants and a lot of other teams understand this. This philosophy is why the Jets don't have an offense.
Some people are just short minded. Learn to think bigger picture, Sanchez's QB play should NOT be acceptable for any NFL team. There are no reasons to support Sanchez but hundreds of reasons why he should be benched.
Hahaha. Statements like this are along the same line as Rex saying tebow was a good pick up because our net punting has improved. I mean really that is going down with the ship, grasping at any thing positive, as minute as it may be, to support your argument.
