Was it a good move not signing Braylon this off season?

Braylon is begging for a job, we should sign him next off season for the Vet Minimum to see what he has left, if he is truly done, then he is done. Then all the Braylonatics like GMCJet can move on. Signing him now and cutting into playing time for our young WRs might be a bad idea.

braylon is a) lousy, b) drives drunk, c) gets in barfights, d) just publicly screwed up yet again by trashing the Jets and e) is on criminal probation.

...other than that, he'd be just great... :rofl2:

Woody isn't going to tolerate that level of stupidity and lack of professionalism from Edwards much less compensate Edwards for that level of behavior and lack of performance. Nor should Woody tolerate or compensate a player who can't contribute on the field and acts like an idiot off the field. Edwards burned his own bridges.

Most ridicolous post ive seen in a long time considering we replaced him with a man who just got out of prison.

And how can you say he's lousy? In 2010 he had 1 dropped pass I believe, was near flawless. He deserves another shot, hes only 2 years removed which IMO isnt that much time. I know the Jets want youth, but when the youth isnt producing then we have to look to veteran players.

The Braylon Edwards ship has long sailed. There's no chance he comes back to the Jets, especially after calling the front office idiots. I would have liked to at least give him a workout, since he has existing chemistry with Sanchez. Worst comes to worst he outplays gates. I bet Rex is begging Tanny to let us get him back. We gotta do it. He could become our Ray Felton.

Say you're a boss, and one of your ex-employees publicly insults you..
Then, that same week, the guy is looking for a job...do YOU hire him?
    Hell no.

It depends. If the guy is really good at what he does and you are in need of that type of person. He has history and has worked well with your people before. He could make everyone more money. You know Rex likes it when people speak their minds. I doubt it happens, but I'd give him a shot if it were me.

Correction, we replaced drunken stupid be w/pb who doesn't have a drinking problem and who paid his dues for his crime (as opposed to be who hasn't).

Very easily - BE sucks and the fact that you would even question that he sucks is hilarious. In 32 reg season games since 2010 be Stats: 23 Receptions, 255 yds, 1 TD.

Its not 2010, its nearly 2013 and now BE sucks, cannot get on the field and is totally ineffective. If it was 2010 you might have a decent argument, but its not and you don't.

he's had too many shots - thats one of his problems - he drinks too much. if you want to spend your money on him feel free to hire him, but don't expect Woody to throw money at this washed up WR who just trashed the Jets - the fool burned his bridges - unprofessional and demonstrates very poor decision making by a guy that is in no position to be criticizing anybody else.

No we don't. And even if we did want to look to veteran players we aren't going to look in BE's direction when he is a washed up wr who acted like an irresponsible idiot when he was here and who continues to unprofessionally attack the Jets. If he could still play somebody might be willing to put up w/his BS but he's no longer a worthwhile investment - maybe he can find a job in canada.

BTW the Manslaughter DUI with the two cowboy players could easily have occurred here w/Braylon's drunk driving. Woody isn't going to invest in a drunk driver who chooses to bad mouth the Jets organization. Lots of poor decisions by Bray.

I dont think the Braylon thing happens either (tho i wish it would)

But lets not pretend that Woody isnt an idiot (in a football sense)

Hes a brilliant businessman, but for him it comes down to getting paid

The Tebow move was all about selling seats, and if signing Braylon sells seats he would do it.

you think Woody is an idiot? okay - i think its an unfair comment, but thats up to you. I would respectfully disagree with you and I doubt you would think that if you knew him or were aware of how dedicated he is the NYJ. He 's a smart guy who owns a great business called the NYJ and he wants it to be as successful as possible - if u have a problem w/that so be it.

Woody has lost several close friends and family members to drugs and alcohol. DUI idiocy by a player is not tolerated especially from a guy like Braylon who wants to be paid millions to play football but refuses to walk a straight line and represent himself and his organization in a professional and responsible manner.

I think Braylon's NFL career is over, he isn't close to his 2010 form. Hey maybe Tebow could throw it to him in the CFL next year!!!

I think hes an idiot in a football sense, I clearly stated that hes a brilliant businessman. Id take his financial advice any day of the week, but judging by the way this team is run (ie high profile moves lets make a splash) the guy clearly wants to sell tickets.

And the Tebow thing was just the most ridiculous of all.

Watching how Tebow was used this year its beyond obvious the guy was nothing more than a publicity stunt. And Woody's comments about "I guarentee Tebow is here until his contract ends" blah blah blah its obvious that hes the driving force behind that

Then they would have (SHOULD HAVE) done it in the offseason. BUT THEY DIDN'T! He's not coming back. I'd love him back and have wanted him back, and even wanted him over Tone. But let's face it.. It's not gonna happen.

all owners want to sell tickets. Acquiring Tebow for almost nothing was a fine move. Guy is a good backup QB who can bring a different skillset. Sporano hasn't used him well, but that hardly makes Woody an "idiot". I think thats pretty unfair.

It is simple, all owners want to make as much money as possible. Saying Robert Kraft and Mara don't care about making money is an idiot. They bought NFL franchises as investments, and another pipeline to keep their pocket's straight.

Which would be fucking dumb, because everyone of those players has produced more the Edwards this year. Just because he was decent a few years ago does not make him a good signing now.

You know its not just Edwards. Maybe we should've brought back Thomas Jones too.

The Jets did with Braylon what they should have done with Santonio...keep him around while he's playing for a contract, then not sign him to the big money. You can't trust guys that mercurial with big money. Of course they 'had' to sign one of those guys and Santonio was younger so he got the money and that's been so ridiculously bad they would have been better off just overpaying J-Co to be a good citizen and workmanlike receiver.
