sanchez was barely even allowed to pass the ball his rookie year.

his second year they played 7 in the box constantly sometimes more.

they figured he was ready for big time action in 2011 and he shit the bed.

2012 was even worse and people finally started realizing what i knew 3 years ago. this guy is not an nfl caliber qb no matter how much you want him to be.

Which means nothing because he has won nothing.

He was barely allowed to pass his rookie year? And yet he had 20 Ints for an insane 5.5 INT rate.

I'll remember him as a the guy an organization bent over backwards for, anointing him the face of the franchise before he set foot on the field. A year after leading the league in turnovers, the guy who they gave a 2nd contract to because they were worried about his feelings.

Sanchez played well in the post season at times, but it was very difficult to win the division or get a top seed with him, even with an elite o-line, running game, and defense. After the oline and subsequently the running game fell apart, was severely exposed.

Heh. So calling him a loser, then me jokingly pointing out he has a winning record as a QB, you say he hasn't won anything. So I guess all those NFL games we saw him start didn't count for anything?

Sanchez reminds me of Lieutenant Gorman from the Aliens movie who sent in the marines into the Alien nest without guns.

"The mission quickly falls apart when the platoon is ambushed by a nest of Xenomorphs at the colony's atmosphere processing plant. Gorman panics and freezes while he watches from the APC as most of his Marines are wiped out in seconds. Realizing that Gorman had no idea what he was doing, Ripley took control of the APC to effect a rescue. While the vehicle is careening down the plant's service tunnels Gorman runs into Brandon Moore's Butt which leaves Gorman out cold with a concussion"

I didn't catch that you were joking but to answer your question, and this is obviously just my opinion, but no they don't count for anything. You win regular season games to get to the playoffs. You win playoff games to get to the Super Bowl. You win the Super Bowl to be the best team in the league. 1 team gets to do it, 31 others don't.

So there's really two prevailing thoughts. One where he was the franchise qb but for a myriad of reasons regressed to arguably the worst qb in the league. Or two, he was vastly overrated by fans and his deficiencies were hidden by an elite defense, online and running game.

Well since I can't think of any other instance where a supposed 24 year old franchise qb suddenly became the worst qb in the league, I'm going with option 2

I will remember him for offending my eyes with his turnovers and inability too protect the ball. For Rex to bench his baby proves enough is enough, he could not get us into field goal range in 3 quarters. Why don't we stop crying over Sanchez and embrace the fact Mcelroy drove us down the field twice to win the game and very well may be the future
