I wouldnt even trade Coles for Holt or Jackson. Holt will be in the down side of his career in the next year or two. As for Jackson, he cant stay healthy, and when he does he's not a number 1 caliber WR.
WHy the hell would we trade Coles, this makes no sense. He's a tough, and hard nose . What else do we want?

As much as I love Coles... I'd trade him for Jerry Porter straight up.

Lets trade our best wr....to UPgrade wr....this news makes absolutely no sense.

Just because he's the Jets best WR doesn't mean he's a real #1. I look at Coles as an excellent #2 WR haven't had a #1 in years.

I agree, but I still believe Coles is a number 1? He's going into his 7th year in the NFL. Branch is in his 5th year and has never been considered a number 1 reciever outside of last season.

That's just not right, unless this is a BIG upgrade, you don't trade coles.

Can anyone explain to me how Deion Branch is better than Coles? Seriously, Branch's best year(last season) was barely better than Coles last season and mind you, Coles had a QB merry go round throwing to him and Branch had Tom Brady. Granted Branch has had good games in the post season, but Coles is a better and more productive player. Plus were gonna need a guy like Coles who is willing to get killed trying to catch one of Chad's duck passes.

    Keep Coles

    Coles is a keeper.
Players aren't on the team because they have great personalities.
    That's where endorsements come in.

Trading Coles is like saying trading Pennington.
Imagine the number of good people we could get for Chad.
A full quarter of a team.
We'd just have to find a great quarterback.
Which would probably cost a third of the team.
    No.
You keep what helps you win.

If they plan on making a push for signing Rogers and trading Coles for Porter (we're not getting Moss), and trading McCareins for a draft pick, I would be all over it. Without a doubt the new WR squad would be better.

Rogers (big fast guy), Porter (big guy), Cotchery (basically Coles), Dwight (burner), Smith (burner), Newhouse (big guy)

    That's 2 potential #1 receivers.

Right now the top of our depth chart looks like Coles, Coles 2, and Coles 3. There's really no variety in their skillsets. They're all nice receivers, but none of them are big, and none of them are burners. CB's can mix and match in coverage at will. Meanwhile, our ability to cause mis-matches is nil.

    Will NEVER happen.

The only two things these two players have in common are the team they play for. Coles is by far the faster, better route runner, pro bowler. We lose something if this guy is traded, I like him as A jet. Mangini dont do this you fat turd.

Never say never... The Falcons did give a first rounder for Peerless Price a few years back.

This is all in your head. Your one of the few people who thinks this. How is he negative ? I need some proof. A quote, anything. He's nuts ???

Wow the guy is a team player, who stands by his teammates 100%. Is this over that post where the guy said coles would not sign his picture ?

At this stage in his career Coles is no faster than Cotchery. He never showed he was a deep threat for this team, and if you're going to be the #1 WR you better be big, or you better be a burner. We have neither in our top THREE WR slots.

The previous regime did a major disservice to our QB corps. How you go 5 years without picking up a legit #1 WR is beyond me. Hopefully the new FO will take care of this. If they can somehow parley Coles and McCareins fpr Rogers, Porter, and a pick or two, we have to do it.
