I dont like Rex as our coach, but I cant say he should be fired based on normal hiring/firing practices Ive had problems with his hiring since day 1, and figure he will be fired after another couple of weird seasons. But as of now, tough to make the case that he should be fired
How can there ever be another thread about Rex not needing to be fired? I mean, its a complete joke at this point. I fRex is back next year theres no point in watching. End of story
49-12 and Rex has Sanchez in. If Mark "gives them the best chance to win", why is Rex using him in a useless spot where he can be injured? Isn't he worried about next week?
who gives a fuck about next week. This loss is demoralizing. This fucking team is done this year and hopefully so is the FO, coach and QB!!! I can't stand watching this shit anymore and this comes from a guy who was once one of Rex's biggest supporters.
Also a stupid move. Imagine trying to explain that if he got hurt? My wife is a die hard Pats fan and she is screaming bloody murder to get him out.
Rex and staff must go. I dont see any player development over the past couple of seasons with anyone, much less Mark Sanchez. Team lacks preparation. Coaches are resistant to change. Time for someone new. I say this mainly because I do not see things getting better under Rex, - I think they will stay the same or get worse.
I say just BLOW this ship up..and the team and its fans bite the bullet until things get right. Whatever their plan is now,it isn't working, so let's just start all over.
I hear what you are saying, but I don't think Rex is all the problem. I think it's starts with personnel (or the lack thereof) and then goes to coaching. Fire Tannenbaum and give Rex the one season warning.
Clyde Gates and Chaz Schillens were our split wide receivers for the beginning of the game. Maybe Rex/Sparano should coach em up, but I would enjoy better talent out there. After something like this and if this plays continue, Rex probably should stay to have a quicker/better future, but Woody willl push everyoen out the door
Rex is a good defensive coach but the Jets talent is just not there for him on the defensive side of the ball to play his style. Still his belief in Sanchez doesn't make much sense to me.
Hard to believe that there were people advocating we give Rex the same amount of time and consideration that the Steelers gave Cowher. After tonite, I wonder if they still feel the same way...? I don't think I could stomach 10 more years of this bullshit. Of course, I'm not a Homer either.
If the Jets put up as many touchdowns as they did turnovers, we would have been right there. Rex has this team prepared alright, to freaking lose. What an embarrassment.
I don't mind giving Rex another QB and a new GM, but most likely we won't do that. Basically people are advocating that because it's hard to hire someone new and just win a SB. You usually build to it. I mean no coach has been HC and won a SB for two different teams, correct? It's hard to get a SB quickly with a new head coach unless the talent is there. We don't have talent. Rex almost pulled the magic in 09 and 10 but couldn't finish it. We need to start over, but we need to commit to the start over, not the mess we created in the past 3 years. That means letting Rex go sure, I'm all for it. But letting Rex go to let him go makes no sense. Look at what we have at this team. If Rex goes and Tanny stay, absolute utter garbage.
D is horrible, special teams is worse....BUT you can't blame the coach for a QB that fumbles every time the wind picks up and a special teams that can't hold onto the ball.
Demote Rex to DC. If he doesn't accept, can his ass. I have seen enough. There is a lack of preparation and a lack of discipline. No leaders on this team, just a bunch of sheep. Blow it up.
I disagree with the premise of this thread. Before tonight I only wanted Tanny and Sanchez fired, now I want Rex gone too. He's lost the team two years in a row, his defense is getting worse every year and this is getting more embarassing by the week. He has no answers, he holds nobody (cough Sanchez cough) accountable. He's proving he's nothing as a coach without the great vet leadership and talent that was around his first two years here.
