As much as I like Anthony on the 4, this was one of those games where we needed him playing at the 3, Zebo/Gasol on Anthony was a massive mismatch all night, and his foul trouble took away from his scoring
Yeah we kept it close but once he got that 4th foul we go in trouble. Tough spot since the floor gets crowded/less effective for Melo once you bring him to the 3. It takes away one decent 3 point shooter (who is better than Sheed) and one less pass option along the line. It's much more potent with Kidd, Felton, Smith etc on the 3 point line than Sheed, Smith, Felton.
Yeah go back to that Memphis Grizzlies thread and discuss your team there.... The Clippers have your number
There isn't many teams that I can say that about since Memphis has 2 legit big men who has post up game if any other than them, but getting murdered on the glass + Carmelo not being on the floor due to fouls made the small lineup not worth what it today, now we can probably get away with it with just about any other team in the NBA but Memphis was a bad matchup
Why would there be a meltdown? Knicks were down 20 or so and fought back to lose by 10. Knicks are still respectable.
GARBLE GARBLE GARBLE. Seriously though, tonight proved why we needed Amare. We could easily have had em trade baskets all night with Memphis and made it an offensive game when we kept fouling in the 3rd quarter
Yeah, only them and the Lakers. Shump will help a lot too. Kidd has been playing great, Shump is more dynamic and can lock down someone Yeah because having an out of conference opponent you won't see in Memphis off a back to back later this season is a good number to have  We see you in March at MSG again. Who knows what our team looks like then. And how come this is the first I see a Memphis fan around. Not hanging out in the playoff or nba thread last year? You guys were good then too! And for Knicks fan, the Friday Night Knicks curse. It strikes again. Never will be good enough to overcome it
Oh and Sheed providing valuable minutes was surprising. He can do that on anyone, so we should go to him more often, and as we can see, he can pass out of the post too. Him and Melo were having there. We know Melo likes it, never thought Sheed would enter a time machine
I don't know if I can even put the Lakers in that category, Pau is much softer than his brother and I have no idea if Howard will be back at top form and D'Antoni's offense is awful with post up players
Shump would have helped if healthy. Less Kidd/Felton/Prigs covering Gay or Conley. Also another player who take it to the hole. But they can both post and bigger bodies that we throw out there. Pau is softer than Marc but Amare is as soft or softer than Pau.
I think Carmelo can defend Pau, and like I said before Post up game and D'Antoni offense are like oil and water, they can do pick and roll but so long as we clean up the back door play, we are pretty good defending that play
Sundays games: Knicks vs. Pacers is at 12 PM Jets vs. STL at 1 PM Which game will you guys be watching?
I'll watch the first hour of the Knicks, then watch the Jets game until it's over, so basically turning the channel back to MSG at about 1:15
Jets on TV, Knicks on laptop. Focus on the Knicks though. Then be forced to switch to the jets game fully for the 2nd half
