You guys keep discrediting Woodhead like he's some worthless player who offers no value and that is very far from the truth, the guy is a weapon for that Pats team no doubt.
Shit on everyone else, but don't shit on McCourty. He's no Revis, he's not even close to Cromartie's level, but your best corner would look that bad too if he had a supporting cast of Arrington, Dennard, Chung, Gregory, etc. I'd say in 2010 I'd give him a 4/5, 2011 a 2/5, and this year around a 3/5. Everyone else in the secondary is a 1.
Please point out where anyone says he's worthless. Fuck Mark Sanchez has worth (albeit minute). Half the players in the league have worth. It doesn't mean they aren't cuttable. And for the love of satan, please let's not pretend that playing with Brady doesn't improve the skill sets of the players around him. I mean, it's not like he always had Jerry Rice and Michael Irvin from the start. And let's not pretend that having DW on the roster somehow puts us over the wall.
Sure, but he's being "discredited" because many fans (including myself) doubt that he would be anything close to the weapon he is on the Pats if he played for the Jets.
Woodhead doesn’t fit our offense. How the hell is a 5’ 2” dude supposed to tackle a defender that just intercepted Los Quaterback?
Woodhead could be nothing more than system RB, but the fact of the matter is that Rex is very stubborn with his personnel decisions and it is a big reason why young talent has not developed under his watch. how many players have properly grown and developed since Rex got here? Only one I can think of is Jeremy Kerley, feel free to add more. It's not all Rex's fault, but the staff in general has done an atrocious job at nurturing young talent.
Haha fair enough. Although McCourty is now playing safety now, right? And just to clarify, why would McCouerty look bad if his supporting cast is bad? If his supporting cast is bad, they would never target him.
I don't think the fact that the Pats have many offensive weapons, so they don't need to utilize them all every week takes away from the fact that he's effective when used. I don't think anyone who is saying Woodhead is a good player has said he's an "intergral" part of their offense. What is clear is that he has some talent and can help a team that knows how to use his talents.
Pats are so loaded on offense, how can you possibly think you're making sense with your post? Brady annihilated that defense so badly that only extreme homer could turn around and think the Colts D actually shutdown somebody. If Woodhead got his touches he would've racked up the numbers also. If Woodhead joined the Jets, he'd be the #1 RB. He'd the best receiver & pass blocker. He wouldn't have the straight up power that Greene possesses but he does have better vision & much more likely to make big plays once he gets past the 1st line of defense.
Our quarterback is short and struggles to see over the line and danny woodhead could give a blow job to our offensive linemen standing up. There's no way they would ever connect.
The Patriots take players and scheme around them to get the most out of them. They've used Woodhead poorly at times but at other times they've put him in great spots. And all due respect for diverging opinions, but McKnight isn't even close to Woodhead in terms of actual, on-the-field production. Look at the past three seasons. Woodhead - 1141 yards rushing, 869 passing, 11 TDs McKnight - 450 yards rushing, 177 passing, 0 offensive TDs I'm sure McKnight would win a 40-yard-dash and any other combine-type thing you want to throw out there. But I'd argue all day that Danny Woodhead is a better football player.
McKnight has had some success in kick returns, but yeah Woodhead has outproduced him. Of course, Mcknight doesn't get the number of touches Woodhead does, nor is he surrounded by the superior offensive players that Woodhead benefits from. http://www.nfl.com/player/joemcknight/497192/careerstats
True and (mostly) true. (You can't discount Mangold and D'Brick, right? But yes, at pretty much all other spots the Patriots' offensive personnel is better.) But I've got to believe that if Rex trusted him more, he'd see the ball more often, you know? And I agree with others who already stated that McKnight would be better in NE. It's kind of a no-brainer... just a better offense.
if you don't want your words thrown back at you about being a fucking idiot, don't make fucking idiotic arguments. a bit of advice, the above nonsense isn't helping your cause.
Totally agree!! that is why Jarvis-Green looked good at times for the Pats, but isn't doing anything in Cinn, against the Pats teams worry about RUN first!
New England has so many weapons that some players are not used in every game plan. Seeing as Woodhead was barely used on Sunday, I'm waiting for him to be the focal point that drives the nail in our hearts tomorrow night. He's a very elusive third-down back and slot receiver. He could have helped here and to discredit that is nothing more than blind New England hatred.
