Since we have the Tanny, SparSUCKO and Sanchez sucks thread I can't believe we don't have a thread about these guys. What's your honest take on this gentlemen? Please do not make this thread another Sanchez sucks and Tebow would do better thread. Personally I do think that even an elite Quarterback would have issues with this line. Discuss

Ferguson hasn't exactly played great. He seems to have regressed. Last year he allowed more pressure on Sanchez than Wayne F Hunter. He's playing better than that this year, but still giving up pressure easily at times. Slauson... well I expected more from him. He looks lost when run blocking sometimes. Moore is reaching the end of his career, no question about it. Ducasse is the one guy I'm semi excited for on the line. He has gotten a lot better in run blocking. Pass protection still needs work. I'm guessing Slauson and Moore are both gone next year. We'll need to draft another OG and OT, nomatter what. Austin Howard has been okay. Hopefully he'll continue to get better.

Slauson sucks... he's a backup guard who cannot pull or run block and sometimes gets mixed up on his assignments. He should study the playbook more and talk to the media less.

Moore is washed up. Barely holds up in pass pro but can't run block that well nor help out Howard. Also he's a bad fit in a man blocking scheme.

Howard is a sup bar RT, as of now, that should be a reserve & swing tackle and not THE starting RT. That said I think it would only be fair to let him have one full off-season as the entrenched starter before fully evaluating him.

Ferguson's play has fallen as well, is it because he finally got paid? Doesn't seem like a guy who would do that but he isn't the same. Since he was never the best run blocker in the world he had to be an ELITE pass protector... I think now he's fallen into the good to VG category.

All in all it baffles me that we wanted to run and pound behind Slauson and Moore, that was my biggest problem from the beginning with this plan!

I have to agree ^^^ . I was in the long line calling for Ducasse's head last year. But the guy has seriously improved. He should be starting in place of Slauson. I hope we keep him as he's only going to get better. At GUARD!!!! NOT TACKLE!!!!

Moore...its a shame. When it was Moore and Woody on the right side we could run on over and through anyone's D-line.

    Side note:
Wayne Hunter( Facepalm ) .... I met Wayne at camp along with Ducasse, Mangold, Brick, Howard (camp is 4 miles from my house ) . Wayne made all these guys look like scrawny midgets. What a freak physical monster this guy is. WAY bigger physically, muscularity wise than all the other guys....I dont get how someone with that kind of physical attributes can fail that miserably.

Ferguson is the 6th best pass blocking tackle among tackles who have played 75% of the snaps according to pro football focus.

He hasn't allowed a sack this year. According to pro football focus he won the matchups vs. Chandler Jones and Chris Clemons.

The Jets offensive line is 16th in pass blocking efficiency according to pff as well. The run blocking needs to improve, but the passing game starts with the QB.

Ferguson has been doing garbage. Last year he allowed more sacks than Wayne Hunter but nobody looks his way.

Sorry but to me Ferguson has always been kind of a disappointment outside of a few stretches of games in his career.

I'm not saying he's trash, because he's not, but for where he was selected, you would hope he would be a guy you can run behind... - But, even when he's been at his best, he was a great pass blocker but mediocre to subpar as a run blocker. Guys like that are around a lot more than you realize and guys like that aren't selected in the top 5.

An OL selected in the top 5 should be or become a complete package..

Early on, I was encouraged by him, I liked that he was good at protecting the QBs blindside and felt that the run blocking would come along. Outside of the '09 playoffs - it hasn't. Therefore I feel he's a disappointment, even before the last 2 seasons when even his pass blocking skills have declined. - extra disappointing.
