Shonn Greene thinks it’s time for a change at the quarterback position Posted by Mike Florio on November 14, 2012, 9:41 PM EST Reuters It’s a good thing the Jets aren’t a circus. To cap a day in which multiple Jets said backup quarterback Tim Tebow is “terrible,” coach Rex Ryan called out the unnamed critics as cowardly, and Tebow expressed sadness at the situation, running back Shonn Greene went the other way, suggesting that maybe the clocks should finally be set to Tebow Time. “Something’s got to change,” Greene told Mike Silver of Yahoo! Sports. “When you get to the point where you’re 3-6, and losing and losing, a couple of guys are like, ‘Oh, what would happen [if Tebow played]? But guys at the same time have faith in Mark, so it’s kind of an up-and-down thing. “You feel bad for Mark, but at the same time you want to win games. We’re not here to protect people’s feelings. If you want to win games, you’ve got to try something. If somebody’s not getting the job done, you see if somebody else can do it. It’s the same with coaching, or any position. You don’t mean to belittle someone or say ‘he sucks.’ That’s just the harsh reality.” The problem is that it’s now too late to switch to Tebow. If it works, and if the Jets actually start winning, it likely will be too late to help them get to the playoffs. Which would serve only to invite questions regarding why the Jets didn’t make the change sooner. The bigger problem is that the Jets appear to have the beginnings of a schism. Yes. Schism. And it possibly wasn’t an accident that Greene included coaching in his list of things that may need to be changed for the team to become successful. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ime-for-a-change-at-the-quarterback-position/
I think what he saying is that if you don't peform, you should be benched................... ....He needs to look at himself.
Of all people, Shonn "it takes me 40 fucking carries just to get 100 yards" Greene is the one to talk. At least he wasn't anonymous. And yes, the fact that I gave him credit for not being anonymous is a new low. This team is an absolute embarrassment.
Oh boy here we go again. "a couple of guys are like, ‘Oh, what would happen [if Tebow played]?" 180 degrees in a single day. Too perfect. This franchise sets the standard for dysfunction. I was starting to believe that the Mehta article was junk quotes from the past that he manipulated. Now we have this. Let's see how this one sorts out.
This is just a quote from Kerley that I found on Twitter. Anyone who puts names to their comments, good or bad, should be commended on this stupid ass team. Celebrate the little stuff.
how bout the players let the coaches make the personnel decisions and they can just focus on not sucking for 60 minutes every Sunday
what it boils down to is there are 53 players on the roster, many more on the practice team and hundreds of people who work for the organization who could be considered "team officials" I bet I could drive to New York visit 1 practice and find 2 players and a dozen employees of the jets who would make an off the cuff remark that means nothing unless taken out of context that I could turn into a hit piece....this whole drama is ridiculous and the team need to buckle down and shut up completely for a bit.
They're totally twisting the Shonn Greene quote in headlines. There are headlines making it sound like he's calling for a change. All he did was admit it crosses your mind when you are on a losing streak.
Twisting headlines, not new. I don't know if you were a Jets fan before Tebow, but this is classic writing for the Jets. Always bend and twist to create headlines, create hysteria from headlines, complain about Jets talking too much (after asking them and publishing their words), then complain about how much the Jets are covered and they need to shut up, then rinse and repeat
THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The media are scumbags, they need to ban reporters out of the locker room. Mike Silver also was the dude that reported the "Tebow 4th string QB story" using unnamed sources!
Yeah, I posted it in the other thread. This is actually a serious piece by Silver, not just a "me too" pile on. I think Manesh was trying to scoop Silver. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl--s...ts-to-hand-ball-to--terrible--tim-tebow-.html
