Actually, it's not clear at the moment. Roethlisberger had an MRI last night and the Steelers thought he was going to be out for 5 or 6 weeks with a sprained shoulder. This morning he came in with swelling where they did not expect it and extreme pain in that area and he went right back to the hospital for another MRI. Swelling would suggest a dislocation and tear with fluid build-up in the area, not a sprain.
but its the steelers and even if he is out they will compete for a playoff spot. thats the difference between them and teams like.....the jets.
Roofiesberger also has a rib injury as a result of that play. Steelers saying it's very unlikely he'll play, and they have listed him as doubtful. It seems that Leftwich will very likely start on Sunday night. Pitt was -3.5 in the advance lines for the game, and now Baltimore is -2.5. 11/13/12 09:15:24pm -2½-13 +2½+04 11/13/12 09:01:33pm -1-32 +1+22 11/13/12 08:06:27pm -1-30 +1+20 11/13/12 08:02:32pm -1-28 +1+18 11/13/12 07:55:10pm -1-25 +1+15 11/12/12 04:09:14pm 11/12/12 11:04:10am +3½-10 -3½+02 11/12/12 10:45:21am +3½-17 -3½+08
Honestly, having a shoulder injury like this, Ben's career might start going down from here, he taken many shots and might be on the wrong end of 30 when it all said and done.
Apparently his rib injury could become life threatening if he takes the field. His a dislocated first rib that could have pressed against his aorta. May be season ending.
It would not be a surprise if he missed the rest of the season. Anyway, here's something else Roethlisberger-related: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-s...oethlisberger-drink-drunk-162927757--nfl.html
