No. Jones-Drew's contract runs through 2013. Shonn Greene is a FA after this season. If anything the Jets would have to give up Tebow, Greene, a 1st or 2nd round draft pick and another player or draft pick. You're not getting MJD for Tebow, Greene and a Day 3 pick. Jacksonville's not going to trade their only star anyways, so this is a moot point. They want Tebow AND MJD, not just Tebow.
I'm not sure how this last comment has anything to do with the topic? Lots of people have more than one team they like? Does Tebow have the tools to get it done for more than one season? We don't know yet. A lot of guys have "had the tools" but came up short. But that contract for Sanchez may have been a big mistake. You have a hard time benching a guy that gets guaranteed money like that. So that's a good point. I think if Tebow gets on the field as the starter, he might not be coming back off. The Jets with Tebow could roll off a few wins in a row. It's not impossible. And if Tebow is as good a leader as some guys say, he may win over the locker room that it might be hard for Sanchez to get the guys to follow him again even if the coaches put him back in the starting role. So benching Sanchez could mean the end for Sanchez as a Jet like some say. I could see all this being a possibility.
He doesn't like the Jets - he likes Tebow (Which ultimately has him supporting the Jets). He seems like a nice person, so no offense to him. Once Tebow leaves, he will not only stop posting on these boards, but he will be a Cowboys/Jax fan, Cowboys - whatever fan. Fans of a team don't switch teams when a player leaves. When you do that, you are a fan of a player. It is hard to parse his or any other Tebow fan's opinions of this team without realizing that - he is a Tebow fan 1st, Jets fan 2nd.
Ah, you're right. For some reason I was thinking he was FA after this year. Yeah, we'd have to overpay alright. It's probably better to beef up the oline but who could we really trade for that would have an impact? I feel that games are won and lost at the line and it's been our weakest unit on the team.
I fall in to the same category as cowboy. I'm here cause of Tebow. So I've been rooting for the Jets cause of that. So my point is don't let that fact make you biased to our comments. We may have some merit to our comments from time to time. I think we've said things that many on this board could agree with.
Sorry guys, a tebow trade just isn't gonna happen. Him standing on the sideline 90% of the game is just too valuable
Ellis has shown he's capable of replacing Pou'ha, he might actually have value for the Vikes since their dline is declining a bit. Tim Tebow could be a good WC option for them. We need oline help more than anything. Win win. I doubt it would happen, but I'd pull the trigger on that trade instantly. Heck, I wanted us to trade up for Kalil in round 1, although it would have been very tough to get good value.
Surely the Vikings will be beating our door down to trade the #4 overall pick for a 33 year old lineman and Tebow.
Nobody ever trades QB's... Because you are not gonna find a super bowl MVP quarterback by making a trade...They come threw the draft..
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Bucs traded CB Aqib Talib to New England. Albert Breer @AlbertBreer Not many '13 picks left for Pats RT @TBBuccaneers The trade details: CB Aqib Talib and a 2013 7th-round pick for a 2013 4th-round pick.
