Well Tebow has his Tebots, but as for Sanchez, yeah, the Sanchez Fans here are a constant reminder of how he's overrated by far too many.

Aren't these the same players who voted Tebow to the top 100 players for 2012 a couple months ago?

That's kind of a good point. How is it that Sanchez is considered overrated when most of the time he's being talked about as an underachiever. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to defend him but is he overrated or is he a bust? You're talking about two completely different ends of the spectrum.

How the hell is Sanchez overrated? I think some of these players have taken too many shots to the head. Sanchez has to be one of the least rated QBs in the league.

NFL players are just jealous of all the attention Tebow gets while most people don't give a rat's ass who they are.

The players in MLB also vote Jeter the most overrated in baseball and he's the only Yankee with 3000 hits and easily a first ballot HOF'er and possibly the best hitting shortstop in the history of baseball (assuming Honus Wagner was long enough ago to not rate a comparison).

Not saying Sanchez is Jeter but these votes don't mean much.

Of course the players are confusing OVER EXPOSURE with OVER RATED.

Please explain to me (and the same argument is for Sanchez), if Tebow is thought of in a negative fashion by 95% of all analyst how is he even "rated" to then be called "over" rated.

Its a vote for over exposure.

No one rates Tebow high, no one...so he can not be over rated.
the same argument can be said about Sanchez to a lesser extent. The media never misses a chance to slam Sanchez etc. he is NOT rated high by anyone , so how can he be "over" rated.

Aw shit. I just posted this in the Tebow forum. My bad, mods feel free to delete it.

This whole thing just shows the players are idiots. They voted him in the top 100, and now they vote him the most overrated. Gee, where do you think that initial rating came from??? Yeah, it's obvious because he gets more coverage than any other player on the Jets. But how can you say Sanchez is over rated? Who has ever rated him high? He's ranked one of the lowest in the league and is constantly bashed.

To be over rated you need to be rated high in the first place. Even on this site (a fan site), the highest anybody has rated him is top 15, which is generous, but it's certainly not even close to the popular opinion. He's had a few top 5 level performances, but it's not the norm. I like the kid and think he's got the potential to improve and take us places, but I don't go around saying how great he is, I just defend him from the people that bash him constantly. He gets way more hate on here than love and that's a fact. If anything Sanchez is the most under rated player in the league considering what he's done in the post season.

Don't people have to think he's good for him to be overrated. Tebow should be number 1 but I'd put Alex Smith as a close number 2. Sanchez has disappointed too many to be overrated.

Exactly, doesn't make any sense. All we hear all the time is how much he sucks and how Sanchez is holding us back, etc. etc.

Like someone else said maybe they are confusing over exposure in the media with being over rated, otherwise this doesn't make a lick of sense.

That being said, I don't really ever believe any of these "we polled an undisclosed number of anonymous players" type articles no matter where they come from. My bet: they just pull the "results" out of their asses in whatever way will get them the most attention and thereby sell the most magazines/newspapers/radio ads/etc. It takes a fraction of the effort, increases the amount of money you bring in (i.e. nobody would care if they said that Alex Smith is the most over rated) and since it's "anonymous" there is absolutely no way whatsoever to investigate their "results" and prove that they are wrong. It's kind of pathetic but apparently it works.

I'm not a tebow fan, but I must say he's probably the mvp of our pathetic season so far.. I say that because, while he doesn't play. Seems like he's getting us an extra possesion every week. Fake punts that he converts get us the ball back. Such a shame we just go 3 and out right after he does that. Lol so for his dollars don't know how he's overrated. Sanchez seems like the whole world just wants to ruin this kid and say he he sucks. If there jusdgin by dollars I guess he's very overrated.

Some good points being made in this thread. How can Sanchez and Tebow be 'overrated' when no one thinks they're good.

Oh give me a break. Tebow has done nothing outside of Special teams since he's been here. Cromartie would be the MVP of our season so far. On Offense I'd put Kerley and Mangold way ahead of him.
