I have to admit, I was feeling a little like this Monday night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxsdPUHbU1I&sns=em
I think the Giants might win this. If they don't, then Detroit will win. It will be one or the other.

Sandoval has three homers tonight. In the most difficult park in the majors to homer in, by far, and two of them came off Verlander.
note the timestamp of my post and the timestamp of your post... his finally driving in a run (in a game that's gotten well out of hand anyway) came 30 minutes later... Giants now will not only lead the series, but they beat Verlander.
I think deathstar was writing about Sandoval. Very tough WS to call for me. I think this is a complete toss up. Giants have better pitching and usually that is the way to go. Thought the Reds and Nats were the two best teams in the majors this year. I thought two of the top three AL teams did not qualify for the playoffs (Rays and Angels). Thought the Tigers would sail through the AL playoffs as a result. Overall, a pretty weird season. An extra playoff spot and still the Rays and Angels could not get in.
oh, I guess you're right. My mistake. That was only the second three home run game by a player in the history of the ballpark, btw.
Scherzer is Detroit's 2nd or 3rd best pitcher, but he doesn't go until Game 4. He appears to be fine now, so it's an odd decision by Leyland. He's a better option than Sanchez, who started tonight.
need to set up a race between all the fat and lazy guys in the WS. Sandoval, Young, Fielder, and Cabrera
bad blown call in the 7th. Blanco chops one towards third, and Cabrera (not surprisingly) makes a terrible throw. fielder clearly off the bag at first and the ump called the runner out
lincecum looks lights out from the bullpen another badly blown call involves Blanco. In the 9th, he was punched out on a breaking ball that was well off the plate outside.
