Shonn Greene plus a 3rd round might do it. McFadden is SICK. I'd definitely take him. Of course we'd have to pay him, however, which might pose a problem.
You are correct, I misread rotoworld this morning. He's due nearly $6 million next year on his current contract.
I would swap Holmes for DMC in a heartbeat. Not sure that will ever happen though. Also, does the OP have a link to any of these rumors?
I would only do it for a 3rd or a 4th... As stated before, probably the most talented RB in the league but is always injured. Having him and Greene would lessen their workloads though and extend their shelf life- big explosive plays from DMC in the first 3 quarters and Greene wearing them down in the 4th. With that said, I would probably rather Ben tate since he wont command as much money and is not injury prone.
Still looking for an actual link to substantiate this. All I found was bleacherreport speculating and calling it "whispers" based on the pure speculation of a no name hack who writes for pilotonline.com. In the small blip that this writer speculates he also speaks to DMC's fantasy stock. So yeah, I think this is pure BS.
DeAngelo Williams is a more realistic option. That said, I would not want either one. Jets should stick with the backs they have and bring in one or two new guys in the spring either via FA or the draft.
So, what, am I supposed to embrace one of the worst starting QBs in the league? I was a huge Sanchez supporter, but he hasn't lived up to expectations. I am not a "bad fan" for wanting our team to succeed. With Sanchez as our starting QB, we won't ever win a Super Bowl.
There is no substantial link to this because its all gossip and fan speculation. Its just a discussion on the possibilities if the opportunity presented itself. For the Raiders it makes absolute sense to trade him, get some draft picks and actually move their franchise in the right direction, which is forward. For some teams it will probably make sense to try and trade for him. At the end of the day, this the NFL, rarely do blockbuster deals occur before the trade deadline. The whole notion of moving the trade deadline back was to allow teams to make moves when they have a better grasp of where their team is at. I think they should still move the trade deadline back further, to the Tuesday of week 10. The NFL wants action and headlines - I don't see anyone making a big deal right now.
I wasn't referring to you specifically, just the overall negative vibe amongst fans. You can't deny it's there and its often very irrational. We were 2 plays away from a superbowl with him 2 years ago when he was worse, so saying we won't ever win with him is a bit overboard. He's still young, and he's developing. He's still streaky and needs to be more consistent, but he's getting there. I still believe he is getting better. His confidence looks much better this year than it has for most of his career. Last year he threw for more than 65% just twice the entire season. In 2010 he only did it once. This year he's already done it twice in less than half the season with tons of injuries. I seriously believe he'll be in the top 15 by the time this year ends.
