After 4 years of absolute regression and downgrade at the QB role...This guy needs to be as blamed for the problems with Sanchez as the O-Coordinator.

Toss his ass out at the end of the year please

The Jets tried to get rid of him last year and couldn't. They would have been better off going with no QB coach, IMO.

I agree... I don't think sanchez has regressed. I don't think he's progressed at all and these small things he should be aware of, he seems lost. He needs to be coached up and the game taiolerd more to his strengths.

I'm not an expert so I can't say what his exact strengths are. He's not terrible and has played very well for pcokets of time. He's not developing. While its maddening to watch him at times, if he gets run out of town at his age, your going to see him develop properly on another team. Its. An awful cunnundrum the jets are in with sanchez.

I'm not real sure what a qb coach can do besides coach fundamentals, Sanchez problem is not his fundamentals, it appears to be his decision making especially under pressure. No amount of coaching is going to help that. If it was year 4 and Sanchez had horrible footwork or a slow release sure jump on the QB coach, but if the game isn't slowing down for him there is little the coach can do

In 4 years what have the Jets done for Sanchez?
Lost: Thomas Jones, Leon Washington, LT, Alan Faneca, Damien Woody, Braylon Edwards, Jerricho Cothery, Plaxico Burress

The guy can win on the road, he has great play action skills, has shown a solid pump fake, when he is on he is really solid.

Andy Dalton - just tied a Cinci record for throwing an interception in 6 straight game, Cam Newton is imploding weekly, Philip Rivers threw a game away against the Broncos, Joe Flacco and the vaunted Ravens offense is not working, the Cardinals have no QB.

Elite QBs don't come around every day, but you get a good QB - which Sanchez is - should be good enough to win in the NFL if you surround that good QB with weapons and play good defense. Well in 4 years the defense has gone backwards and weapons have no been replaced.

all of those QBs are having significantly better years than Sanchez, two of them are 2nd year guys and are having better years than Sanchez has ever had.

Not to mention none of those guys are elite, none of them are above average right now, the fact that they all are having a better year then Sanchez should be troubling. Rivers could well be out the door soon if he keeps melting down, the 2nd year guys will not have hit their ceiling yet, and Flacco is what he is a QB on a team where the most important part is the Defense.

My problem is not with Sanchez per se, I have a problem with paying the money you are paying to get production you could get from a 2nd round pick that you could be paying nothing right now

Dalton 13TD/10INTs and he has some scary offensive weapons. Elite receiver and a solid o-line.
Cam Newton - 5TD/6INTs - biggest disappointment of the season
Flacco - this was his year to step up and lead a team with an aging defense. His 5th season - one pass from a Super Bowl last year. He was going the be called on to take the next step with Ray Rice.9TD/6INT - doesn't sound like a big step was taken.
    Sanchez - 9TD/7INTs

Everyone talks like there are 31 other QBs playing every week that are elite and that Sanchez is just horrible from beginning to end. His Comp % the last two weeks now that Keller is back and he has adjusted to no Holmes - 61% and 69% compl.

    name completion% YPA td/int

    Dalton(2nd year) 64.2 7.54 1.3
    Newton(2nd year) 58.4 8.02 1.2
    Rivers 66.5 7.14 1.11
    Flacco 59.5 7.29 1.5
    Sanchez 53.2 6.67 1.28

he is slightly on top of two guys in a single category, and is behind all of them in every other category. Again two of these guys are 2nd year guys, they have an excuse to struggle a bit. Rivers could be on his way out the door if he keeps up his meltdowns and Flacco is a game manager, who pretty much everyone understands will never be more than a game manager

A coach can only do so much with the player he is working with. we already made a change at the top of the offense this year to help Mark and the team. How s that working out so far?

We don't let fact interfere with fantasy.

Just go with it. It's better in the long run.

    Pretty good all things considered.

Mark is playing like shit. Why - because he sucks. He can't make decisions, he has poor footwork, he can't throw, can't run, cant feel pressure, poor accuracy, like to watch General Hospital and eats Rocky road (I'm sure some asshole will use this as a reason to bash MS).

Why are these such issues with Mark? Hmm lets take a look at some facts...

WR Carousel There is not 1 WR on the Jets today that was here in Mark's rookie year. Patrick turner was the closest thing to consistency at the WR position. Holmes is second. How good of a WR is Patrick Turner? So good he was cut. Our WR core is so poor that Turner hung around until week 5.

OC & Philosophy change Thank God Schotty is gone. Sparano is more of what i want my team to be. But it is all brand new so I expect to see some growing pains. They are improving each week so you can't complain too much.

TE Outside of Keller, the Jets have yet to have a worthwhile TE on the team. Cumberland was coming around and now with a dislocated hand, who knows how effective he will be. Reuland and Smith are not there yet from a pass catching perspective. This is on the FO.

RB/Running Game Declining. Thomas Jones to LT to Shonn Greene. Need I say more? AP or McCoy or some other stud RB would completely change the dynamic of ground n pound. Also - see below.

Declining OLine The drop from Faneca to Slaw wasn't that bad. But you couple that with going form Woody to Hunter and we have big problems. Oh and injuries. Just remember one name to remember how bad the Jets got fucked in the ass with injuries COLON Baxter.

Coach Cav How about we bring in a side kick to QB coach. Cav has been with Mark since the beginning. Obvious its not working or Cav's philosophies aren't working or clicking with Mark. Maybe a fresh perspective or someone else that has preexistence. Someone to assist Cav in building on those skills.

All this has occured over the last 3+ years and yet Sanchez stats seem to even improve. Almost to a painfully slow improvement, but still better year after year nonetheless.

So are we going to absolve Sanchez of blame here? Abso-fucking-lutely NOT. But we are not losing because of Mark Sanchez.

Part of the problem? Yes. Is THE problem? No.

He's our QB at least until the end of next year so lets make the best of it and support him while he is running the team. I'm so tired of seeing Sanchez thread after Sanchez thread of constant bashing. Trust me - I am OFF his dick, but Jesus Christ - can we at least be rational about the situation?

I know its tough to swallow the fact pill but it will help in the long run.
