1. the "Bellore" facemask actually happened AFTER the punt and should not have given NE a first down. 2. since three weeks ago, does Simms get a lap dance for every time he says "size is a talent"? 3. The clock stopping at 2:01 on the McCourty fumble instead of 2:00 was almost as heart-breaking as Hill's drop. 4. If NE loses, McCourty gets hero-to-goat of the century. 5. Normally sunshiners piss me the fuck off -- b/c rational observation about flaws after victories makes their breasts sore -- but right now, come on, the Jets were supposed to be smashed by 50 points. They outplayed NE and the front page of the forum is ALL negative. I wouldn't want to play the Jets right now. 6. See #3.
Sanchez played well. The INT was bad, and Im sure the fan base will trash him, but all phases played well at times and bad at times. Gotta keep grinding.
Tough loss, but certainly some positives. Kerley played fucking awesome and Hilliard is such an upgrade from Conner it's not even funny. I'm starting to think Holmes going down was the best thing that ever happened to this offense...
Was great to see Coples and davis doing well. Kerley has such great hands and Hill is moving along, but what a painful drop.
good to see some positivism. I mean listen, every game against these guys is gonna be an absolute battle as long as Brady is there. Fuckin sucks that certain things did not go their way today and they came out with a loss. But the fact of the matter is, Hill catches that ball, they probably win. They stop them with a minute and half to win the game? We're discussing a win right now. So it was this close, and hopefully we get em next time. No need to bash Sanchez, he played well.
I agree, losing Holmes is addition by subtraction. I think Kerly's already better than him.I hope there's a way we can jettison Holmes before next year without blowing up our cap.
add the fact that beli should have gotten a 15 yard penalty for the chalenge on hernandez's fumble. maybe we hold them to 3 there. but the positive is the last 2 drafts seems to have given us some players wilk, kerley, coples, davis, hill (drop aside he is gonna be solid at worst) the futures bright boys,a tweek here and there and this team will be rolling
I'm liking this thread.... Lots of things to build upon. The refs didn't help, nor did the drops, or questionable play calling. Yet we still out played those pastriots... This is still a young season, we can def become better.
Agree with all of the OP. Jets aren't great, but in the last three weeks, they were right there with what are likely the two best teams in the AFC with a good chance of winning each game, and they hammered a 3-3 team. I'm not saying these are moral victories, but those saying the sky is falling are completely ridiculous. The AFC is awful this season. The Patriots aren't as good as they used to be (and they're still probably the 2nd best team in the AFC). However, the Jets can't "almost" win these games anymore. We got lucky to beat Miami, but we probably could have won today. Next week against Miami is a near must-win. Today was huge, but today is a game that was marked down as a loss by 99% of us before the season. Next week, the Jets can get to 4-4 at the bye and 3-1 in the division with the Pats at home later in the year. I think the bye week will be big for this team both in terms of getting healthy and in terms of figuring out personnel without a game to also prepare for.
I cant help but think what an ass raping Tanny has given us for the next few years. Kerley and Holmes basically play the same role in an offense. Kerley is better and younger than Holmes but we have so much money tied up in Holmes for the next few years that we are stuck with that malcontent.
Exactly, get to 4-4 and we are okay. I think we can go 5-3 or even 6-2 to finish the season and that's playoffs
