I am over 40 now and could careless about moral victories or respectable losses. I am not judging any younger fans as they hope this current group can build and get it together through the season. I have no faith in this bunch. We aren't a running or passing team. A team with no identity is a losing team. The record at the end of the year won't be good enough, we all know it.
This one DOES hurt. It's hurts more when we play good enough to win a big game like this, and then lose it in the end. I'd rather we were just blown out. Then I wouldn't give a shit. But losing these close games are painful. Although, at the same time I'm proud of this team playing better than most people expected. They are NOT an embarrassment. Proud of them and hurt by the loss.
The only thing we have going for us is the AFC is really weak this year and 9-7 will probably get us a wild card spot
If Tebow had the ball on that final drive in overtime we would be celebrating a win right now, Tebow doesn't lose overtime games he is undefeated as a starter in overtime in this league
I'm not calling it a "moral victory" I'm just saying that I can tolerate losses if the team showed some effort. Shitty losses like against the 49ers are worse IMO.
Actually a loss like the 49ers is easier to take because that game was never close after the 1st half so we new we were gonna lose after awile. This one was so close with so much on the line and a chance to turn the season in a diffrent direction, Now we play a well rested Miami team who might smell blood in the water after this, there a hungry young team and we might look like injured prey next week
Either loss sucks no doubt, but, personally the 34-0 drubbing was a total embarrassment. At least after todays game there were some positives Kerley, Greene still running effectively, Sanchez making some key passes, Keller. At least you feel like maybe we can compete in the league, whereas the Niners game was just a total humiliation.
LOL at the person who said if Tebow was in we'd be celebrating a victory. This fanbase is stupid and don't deserve to have a team, sometimes. Anyways... This team made mistakes all over the damn place. NOT starting with out QB. I feel like Charley Brown, and the world is the Lucy to me and the Jets.
Very true, for all the abusive hits he takes week in out, particularly last season, he's always out there taking the snap each game.
Yeah, a loss is a loss but it's quite clear that the Jets are not as bad as we thought they were going to be and the Patriots are not as good as everybody thinks they are. A few mistakes, some bad bounces and some questionable calls by both Sporano and the refs and this game goes the other way. We've played 2 of the 3 best teams in the AFC and have had a chance to beat both of them without the best defensive player in the NFL and our #1 WR. The 49er game was a low point but this team has been much better the last 3 weeks. They might not be there yet but considering the lack of talent on this team, a bottom 5 QB and today having to use our 4th RB oh and Keller back into the mix and this team is still in position to make the playoffs. There are no moral victories but most level headed fans can see that Ryan has been very good the last few weeks.
My point exactly there are some positives that could be carried over to the next game. We ran the ball fairly well against one of the top run stopping teams in the league. Sanchez played well. Keller looks like he is back to his old self, Kerley has solidified himself as a good receiver.
What to make this loss more sickening we out gained the Pats 458 to 390, never saw that coming. At least our offense isn't "the worst in the league."
