I hope so. This is what we brought Tebow in for, right? I mean, we NEED to win this game... It would be HUGE. Go big or go home. Leave everything on the table and try everything. If its 4th and 2 or 3 and we arent on own own 10/20/30 yard line, send Tebow in there and convert it. No fucking field goals either. We need touchdowns and should go for on 4th then also.
Unless we had Haloti Ngata and cloned him twice, theres no way the Pats dont run all over us and rush for 200+ yards and absolutely gas our defense.
I just don't see it. We're average. You are what you are and we're 3-3. I can't remember being this down on the Pats DB's. It's just astonishing to watch really. That said, I thought Tebow threw a nice long ball last game and against us, that's a complete pass. Sanchez/Hill will be able to burn us all day as well. We're just not that good this year.
From what I've read on this post what makes the most sense to me is 3 Line men 1 Linebacker and 7 DBs. Coples, Devito, Wilkerson Harris Cromartie, Wilson, Landry, Bell, Allen, Lankster, Berry? or Bush This will sacrifice the run d but it'll slow down the pass. With so many guys back there it has to be hard to throw. Also maybe adding Davis in there for his speed once in a while would be good.
Methinks the premise of the 3-3-5 is to have an extra safety instead of corner so that we can stick the run better, but still cover the TE without a slow linebacker. First meeting last year we got run the fuck over. Can't let that happen.
The obvious problem that the Jets have tomorrow is that other than Harris none of the LB's match up well with the Patriot's talent on offense. That's why I think they might try playing a safety at LB for the game. Not really a nickel safety but a safety actually lined up in the box over one of the TE's. It's not that that's more fundamentally sound than a normal 3-3-5, since the Jets will be small on the field with only 3 linemen and 2 real LB's, but the LB's the Jets do have just aren't fast enough to play with that Patriot offense. A fact that Rex has to know by now given that he's watched his LB's running behind people all year and not quite catching them. The interesting question is who the 3 down linemen and 2 LB's would be.
I haven't been this excited for "unexpected news" since gay ass Kerry Rhodes JetBlue announcement. Hope this one is better to say the least....
The premise for this entire thread is some blogger doofus talking to his buddies on twitter claiming to have inside info while there is no info coming from any other source. Sounds like a giant crock of shit to me. We'll see this afternoon.
I agree byz. The expectations here should be downplayed a little bit. If not there will be chaos on this board by 8:00 pm tonight
I think were all set to go, we've even already connected this blogger talking to his buddies to Rex Ryan blowing hot air. So now all we need to do is somehow blame Tannenbaum for what this guy is tweeting. I'm sure we'll figure it out.
This is the beginning of the Jets move to the A-B-C-D defense, as in Allen-Bush-Coples-Davis. Also throw Dowtin in the mix as our hybrid LB/S.
