I believe $16.5 million comes forward immediately on the cap this season if Sanchez is traded. The other team would take over the remaining $5 million salary but the prorated money would hit the cap like a ton of bricks. I don't think the Jets can work that kind of deal even if they want to at this point.
If they're wise, they are signing a QB and trading Tebow. It's obvious that Tebow and Sanchez can't exist on the same roster. Both are less then stellar QBs but one has shown that on occasion he can play decent while the other is capable of making a big play from different areas of the game. Trading Tebow at least keeps Sanchez from having to look over his shoulder and besides, why stop coddling him now.
Sarcastic humor is the best. Sometimes I have to double-check when it's that casually written yet so outrageous. TMZ probably has great coverage of Chad Johnson and Big Ben whenever he's just gone on vacation.
That'd be a lame reason for bringing KOC in considering they already have Tebow in-house (newsflash, the guy played in a McDaniels system too). This kind of gamesmanship was cute, even smart the first couple of times - now it's just silly. We should know the basics of the Pat system by now and they always put in a couple of new things for every opponent anyway.
It escapes me how the Jets working out a garbage QB who can't even get a job would be so interesting to so many here.
I understand the frustration here with Sanchez, and I share it. That doesn't change that the fact is Tebow has shown nothing that would suggest he should be the starter. Since I don't believe anything I hear out of the Jets, even though I was upset at Woody saying Tebow would be here for this year and the next two, the best move is to trade Tebow. And if Tebow is traded, the Jets will need a third qb behind Sanchez and McElroy. That makes the most sense to me. Cutting McElroy for O'Connell makes no sense. McElroy has not even had a chance to fuck up this season, let alone done so, and on paper O'Connell has less upside than McElroy. I don't see that scenario at all. Cutting Sanchez in the off season for another Qb is a possibility, but now for Tebow? I'll say this - as much as Sanchez frustrates me, if the Jets did that, I would find something else to do instead of follow the Jets.
I understand that part. Trying out a journeyman qb and making the leap that a trade for a stud running back could be in the works without any info behind it is a pretty big leap in logic. Its like me telling my dogs we're going for a walk and them wondering if we're going to stop by the steakhouse for bacon wrapped porterhouses and all the sides. That being said, it would be great to get MJD assuming the salary number worked out.
By Bill Williamson | ESPN.com Yes, there is more chatter about Dwayne Bowe wanting out of Kansas City. That is not a shock. And, yes, as the trading deadline approaches, expect to hear more about the Chiefs trading the wide receiver. It might be in the Chiefs’ best interest to think about dealing Bowe, who is having a solid season. If he truly is not interested in re-signing there, the Chiefs should consider moving him rather than franchising him and continuing to pay an unhappy player. The Chiefs could get a solid draft pick (perhaps a second-rounder with some other considerations) for Bowe. Kansas City’s season is going nowhere with or without Bowe. So if a team such as Miami comes calling, it is something the Chiefs might want to consider in the next few weeks. Meanwhile, in an Insider piece, Bill Polian looks at the top needs Insider of the Chiefs and Raiders, among others. No surprises here. Polian thinks the Chiefs need a quarterback and the Raiders need a defensive end. I can’t argue with the man. Thoughts......Do you see us going after him?
not really... both of these teams do an info gathering search annually with things like this...bringing him in for a "workout" meaning asking what can we expect from the pats that we may not already know? The Tebow example is a poor one. That offense while run by McDaniel's has no parallels to the Pats offense this year. I have no issue with this at all...It's simply due dilligence.
Tebow to HB/FB/H-back, however you want to put him in the offense, makes a whole lot more sense to me than trading him or releasing McElroy should they bring O'Connell in. That said, haven't we kicked the tires enough on O'Connell to realize he doesn't even make for a very good backup QB? We might as well sign a rookie QB to the practice squad and see if we can develop someone basically for next to no money.
We should be trading Sanchez if we are trading any QB's on this team,Sanchez isn't gonna get any better, Even if he had Calvin Johnson to throw to he would still be a walking disaster
Sanchez has a bad yeast infection he cant shake and they are considering putting him on IR. Seriously, mcelroy being traded/cut in my opinion. Jets are still competitive in afc east and wildcard race. There will be no major shakeup with a shot at the playoffs and Tebow has been an asset converting 4th downs which have led to points.
Maybe Tebow or Mcelroy are hurt? Only trade that makes sense involves Tbo... However I don't think that's what is happening. Either Tbo will be seeing more time as rb possibly a num 3, or one of our backup qbs are hurt.
