I said defender meaning a defensive player. Sure the o-line could factor in to the batted passes however it's still mainly the QB's responsibility as he is the one making the throws. Of course I know, as well as many others, that our entire set of offensive skill players suck right now with the exception of Kerley. He's doing his job. I'm not trying to only point the finger at Sanchez. Yet the QB is the most important position on the field. He is playing like shit. I am merely pointing out that his play is a major reason why we suck. There are many other contributing factors to us sucking as well.
It's a combination of the entire offense sucking, Sanchez sucking and playing against 3 of the top 5 defenses in the last 4 weeks. Not a good combo. Having passes tipped by JJ Watt isn't a huge indictment on Sanchez.
sometimes you cut, sometimes you seal. eitherway, those things are built into the playcall. and on both watt tips near the goaline, a cut was not called(this si almost certain, as in neither did the lineman attempt to cut watt). with this in mind, sanchez needs check and be sure the lineman isnt dropping into his lane before pulling the trigger. if the linement went to cut him and didnt get him down, fine. but that isnt what happened
That JJ Watt deflection near the end of the 1st is not on Sanchez. The guy made a great play and just barely tipped that ball. It's not like Mark threw it right in his face. I always thought tipped balls were on the oline.
depends on the situation, there are times when the oline should cut a guy low so he can't jump and there are time when the qb needs to be aware of where his throwing lanes are. There are also time when the defender just makes a great play
Well, on the one hand JJ Watt is playing like a beast this year, but on the other hand Sanchez needs to do better not telegraphing his passes... or maybe learn to pump fake it.
whatever the problem is it has been consistent since his 2nd year, he has been top 3 in number of tipped passes the past two years, and is on his way to a third
