No doubt the front seven on defense has been the biggest disappointment but Mangold and Moore have been terrible. Watt is the best defensive player in the league and he destroyed both Mangold and Moore. They haven't blocked anyone all year.
I don't know about destroying people - on his blocked passes he didn't even leave the line of scrimmage or was blocked at the point of attack. As for running the ball...jets are the easiest team to defend against the run in the league. Stack the middle and put your head down..odds are Green will run into you and fall down. They let McKnight run and didn't run a toss or sweep -- just between the tackles for no gain.
Oh how I miss 2010. Jet's O-line had such a great push. We even thought Greene was border line talented.
They have been pretty good in pass protection, but the run blocking has been a mess. Moore is a shell of himself as well
Mangold played awesome. Slauson even played well backing him up at center. Howard played a little below average. Moore didn't play well. Brick was good until the 4th quarter. JJ Watt is a monster though and will continue to dominate O lines like has all year.
Mangold's fine, thank you. As for the OL overall, no need to panic. We have GM Mike Tannenbaum, talent evaluator extraordinaire and crack team-builder who will have the Jet offensive line the envy of the league in short order...just like with the linebacking corp...just like with the RB corp, etc. Mike sustains overall team talent like it's nobody's business. Nothing withers on the vine, not on Mike's watch.
FACT: in 2010 Mangold and Moore were 2 years younger each, combining for an additional four years of age / wear and tear. case closed. you're welcome.
Mangold has been stout Slaushit is half the reason our line is under performing he's a zone blocker we play better when Ducasse is in
Mangold's fine. Moore is showing his age. And yes, the Jets can't run between the tackles for their life at this point. They're probably averaging under 3 yards a carry on runs up the gut.
Mangold with all his woos is still a top 3 Center. So if you think he is playing bad just times that by 5 for most of the other starting centers,
Moore's regressing is clearly visible now. And who is his replacement? Ah, right. Jets will draft one next spring. That's the modus operandi since T-Bomb era. God, I fucking hate how they do this. Blind men all over the places.
Moore is old has had about a million surgeries and is just about finished....he wont be on the team next season.
This was driving me crazy too. We all know what Mcknight can do in space, so why do the Jets keep running him up the middle? The only time he has a chance to run outside is on a busted wildcat play that he never should have been taking snaps for in the first place. Get Mcknight the ball outside, whether its a pitch or even a screen, and let the guy try to make some moves.
You deserve a beer for that. OUR COACHING IS PREDICTABLE AND HORRID. I thought with Sporono or w/e, that we would be more creative.
