I would do J-Mac for Thomas Jones straight up. But the thing is I like J-Mac, I think he's a good player. I'm just not sure if Mangini is high on him?

McCareins is not the Jets future. He is a flip flop for #2 WR even. Regardless of who is better, him or Cotchery, moving him would not be a bad move, especially if we get a DT, OL depth, or draft picks.

I like Tank a lot but he is another 3 technique 1 gap type DT that is not suited for the 3-4. If I had to take a 3rd stringer it would be rookie DE/OLB hybrid Mark Anderson.

I think just about everyone in the Jets organization and fans would do that trade. The question is are the Bears dumb enough to do it.

If you can get his cell number, call Steve McNair and ask him if he'd welcome McCareins split wide on the Ravens. He'd tell you hell yes. I think Mangini is playing this one perfectly and I expect McCareins to respond with good results.

i think we could use another eyar with McCariens in this offense...hes considered a veteran in our WR crew and the closest thing to a possesion WR.... but if we could get rid of him for thomas jones im all for it, but thats highly unlikely considering hes their starter right now ( i know they're going to slowly intergrate benson but hes still the starter)

I heard the same thing from Clayton. If we can get a first day pick, I say trade him.

Why do some of you want Thomas Jones. I mean we JUST got Kevan Barlow who needs to learn the offense and we have three other backs that do their own thing pretty well. Cedric Houston is a good strong runner, Blaylock is a little shifty guy, and Leon is explosive. So why waste a decent player for Thomas Jones, we are deep at WR but i mean come on.

J-Mac for a DT is fine with me. A BIG FAT DT !!!!
We have to find a way to stop teams from running up the gut on us. I'm still concerned in that area.

i think mccareins might get dealt for the same reasons mawae was cut...might still have some talent or could help out, but with a new coach he doesnt want any distractions
it wouldnt even matter to me what we get, b/c mccareins is no longer apart of the jets future

If we were going to move JMac in a deal for Jones, it would have happened a while ago. We traded a 4th for Barlow already. We're not trading for another back. If we could get a DT for JMac, I'd do it. Would never deal him for a 4th rounder or something though. We're not deep enough at WR.

JJ, I haven't seen you in ages. And I agree about JMac. People seem to forget his 04 season.

And THAT is what its all about....is Justin McCareins a Mangini guy?....he will keep those that he believes will produce....I think he doesnt have to worry about cap issues...for me....I like the guy...he has shown his potential mettle...I always have rooted for him to

    I'm sticking by him....

His reputation was always to be a tough, hard worker and he's been hit with injuries and had a cramp during his physical and was made an example out of.

I think he worked even harder and if he's healthy, he'll be good.

QB play, of course, is a huge part of it though and he hasn't had it.
