Going to ignore the question of benching Sanchez, or who should be the starter, yada, yada, yada. Save that for some other thread. As the title says, IF Tebow gets substantive playing time, put him the shotgun with Spread formations the entire time. Split 4 WRs, or 2 WRs and 2 Split Ends out wide, or even empty out the backfield and go 5 wide. Open things up and let the kid air the ball out. Additionally, go uptempo and no huddle. Give the defense as little time to react/adjust as possible.
The whole luxury you have with Tebow in this context is not having to worry about whether it's something he could sustain (energy wise) for 60 minutes. Put him in an empty backfield with receivers going out, and let him make single reads and take off running if he wants. It's a hot mess to try and stop that. And you can run him at a pace that's only sustainable for a couple of drives.
Well, I'd say enough option plays. They aren't working. Spread it out, let him run up the middle or pass. Doubt we see it though. Number 6 should get the whole game no matter how bad.
why? i just dont understand the sanchez homers that would rather lose terribly with sanchize playing awful instead of seeing what we may have in tebow or mcelroy
I'd like to see no huddle, for Sanchez or Tebow. We have to try and change the tempo. Change something.
If Mark looks like he did last week, this sounds like a great plan. if Mark's moving the ball then leave Tebow on the sidelines
The Jets are still second in the division - just one game behind the Pats. So I'd imagine they want to win this one. Unless Sanchez totally melts down in the 1st Qtr, it's really no time to be experimenting with Timmy at all, let alone giving him "substantial playing time"...
