The Turner thing I remember, but Schaub I don't. Would have loved to attained either. I think we all love Nick Mangold, but at the end of the day if you can nab a Top 10 QB or top tier RB, you take him over a C, plus whose to say the Jets couldn't have still found a way to move up and take Nick?

    Oh well.

guys schaub is a very mediocre QB. without the most dominate running game in the nfl and andre johnson he is nothing special at all

hey what about pursuing that really good back up from New York. Lets make up for that what could have been.

    Start Tebow.

Schaub is a statue only good bc Houston has stellar running game and weapons a receiver. Leading the New York Jets offense Shaub would last maybe half a football game.

To be fair, Schaub had no running game in 2009 and he completed 68% of his passes and threw for over 4700 yards.

I hate these "shoulda, woulda, coulda" threads.
We could have had Peyton if Parcells guaranteed that
he'd be our starter after his junior year at Tennessee. The hypotheticals
are infinite; and they all point to the same thing, this team has made
mostly poor decisions, and that's why we haven't won in 43 years.

Was just going to say this.

The Jets will be fine with Sanchez.

No offense, but most of you have no clue when it comes to Schaub. No real surprise tho as he is very underrated. The man is extremely efficient, makes very few wrong decisions and gets the ball out at the right time on almost every play. He is now a master of this offense. If you watched the Hou @ Den game a couple weeks back and you would know this already.

If I read the article correctly, Tanny had no quotes or any part of the article. It was a Mangini comment quoted and speculated on by the writer.

    Just saying, kanye shrug

Tanny was mentioned but it wasn't him mentioning. It wasn't like he came out and said this. This was Mangini talking.

So Tanny wasn't trying to credit himself or any of the current Jets FO. That's why I was confused by your post. It had no indidcation that Tanny is bragging or talking this up.

we knew they loved him back then, I don't recall the Abe info but I know the Jets wanted him. Keep in mind Matt Schaub has never won a big game in his NFL career, they made the playoffs and won playoff game w/o last year. for most of the last 4-5 years they have been expected to make the playoffs only to fall short every year.
