part of holding on to the ball is lack of weapons that can't beat press coverage, run routes, or get open. Also have no reliable Tight End and not outlet threat out of the backfield aren't helping.
The salary cap dictates it. Only way that changes is if they draft a franchise QB of the future AND that franchise QB of the future has enough weapons around him that it's even worth it to start him.
Or, better yet the old fake injury routine. Remember Clemens starting over Sad Sack because of an "injury". Get his attention. Once he saw you would play him no matter what, the pressure of Tebow went away.
Not only is Tebow not the answer, I think it would be worse. Hopefully we will be 3-3 after the next 2 games, and see what happens from there. Remember last year (or the year before) we lost at home to G.Bay 9-0, and the sky was falling then. Well it did get turnrd around then, and it could also turn around now. If the Jets come out on Monday, and aren't prepared both mentally and physically, it will be on the coaching staff. I would be surprised if we don't see a great effort on Monday.
Sanchez isn't going anywhere. A string of bad games isn't the end of the world considering all the problems we are dealing with on offense. This shit will be corrected and everything will start to get better. Sanchez will be fine, I think he still ends up with a very productive year. We'll see.
That's a very level-headed way of looking at it and I hope you are right. It's just hard to keep that kind of faith when you aren't just losing, but completely non-competitive.
Tebow is the worse of the two as a passing QB (marginally right now), but he makes better decisions than Sanchez. He can see a 300lb. lineman 6 feet in front of him. I think one of Marks biggest problems is he's scared of making a bad throw, he won't throw into small window single coverage, the perplexing part is, he has no problem throwing into double or triple coverage were there's a bigger window, but less of a chance of completion.
if Sanchez gets benched, it won't be his last game as a starter this year, it will be his last game as a starter for the Jets period. this isn't some journeyman free agent that you can be wishy-washy on as your starter. this is the number 5 draft pick you traded up for. you either stick with him, or you are admitting he is a failure and a bad pick. and if he is a failure, why would you ever start him again? there is no middle ground in this situation for the Jets, which is why Rex is so hesitant to pull the trigger, especially when he doesn't have a better option backing him up.
If Sanchez remains the starter no matter what, I hope he gets hurt. I want to win, and I could give 2 shits about his feelings. Play the best player not the highest contract!!!
Tebow doesnt solve our problems. To be effective, Tebow would need a running game (which is non exsistant)
no, to be effective Tebow needs to at least have the threat of maybe passing the ball, which requires him to play every down. that is why he is useless lining up as a QB for the Jets so far, it is done so infrequently that the defense plays it as the run it is. but once you start him, the confusion of what the play will be opens up the run and pass games. of course his passing ability then limits the pass game, but that is another story.
Ryan is an idiot, but even he isn't stupid enough to start Tebow. Tebow won't start until Ryan has to panic to keep his job... once the playoffs are out of reach. Figure week 9 or 10.
I don't see them making a change until week 9 the earliest. Probably has until the first half of the season is over.
So you think Indy and Miami are gimmee games? They needed OT to beat Miami and Miami scared AZ this week. Reggie Wayne and Luck might light this defense up with no Revis. I think the Jets lose at least one of these two games, maybe both.
He's going against a 2nd straight elite defense. If he can't beat a terrible Colts and Patriots defenses, then you pull him
