im very skeptical of this. when holmes tossed the ball out he looked like he was giving a broadway performance.... he actually put effort into extending his arm and launching the ball to the defenders. If some other player was hurt, he would probably just drop it and let it roll out of bounds, not toss it up like a fucking ballroom queen. I don't know... if the injury was legit i think we would have had an update by now... and the area of the injury wouldn't have been changed three times. If you look closely at the replay holmes is indecisive in choosing where he "injured" himself
Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Holmes is home tonight watching MNF with his buddies, laughing his ass off at all the speculation about his 'injury' as he dances his way to the fridge and grabs another beer...
I think he was flicking the ball away so he could get up and make that obnoxious first down gesture he is so fond of.
At least it shows he can get a first down. Unlike Kyle Wilson, who waggles his finger after Alex Smith overthrows a receiver ten yards ahead of him like he did something.
someone did this last week i think. i wanna say chiefs.. but i don't remember. it wasn't as exaggerated as holmes though
IDK I was thinking Holmes might have been faking the injury since I saw the game live yesterday... It was just the most fake looking play I have ever seen. We may not find out if this is true, but if it ever comes out it's going to be a shitstorm.
Rash of season-enders could be due to lack of proper guidance in the weight room. Bring back Sal Alosi.
There certainly is something suspicious about this injury and what the hold up in reporting it is. Although I have my doubts he is faking, if someone ever did something that dumb Holmes would be a candidate.
This is the longest MRI in the history of sports. Part of me believes the Jets are delaying the announcement because the injury is no more serious than a two or three week injury, which would make Holmes' ball flip even more pathetic. Hang on the fucking ball like those who have come before you (Jerricho Cotchery w/ his hamstring in Cleveland in 2010, anyone?).
Incarerated Bob weighing in: Incarcerated Bob @incarceratedbob So it turns out Santonio Holmes wasn't injured seriously, but acted like he was shot by Plaxico's gun. Dude is a selfish SOB #ShouldBeGone
no one else on Twitter has this story and I don't see any blogs running with it yet...wonder who his source is
I agree with this but this is the part that made me laugh, sad as it is, and perfectly defines Sanchez, Sparano and this team in general. "The Jets had the ball, second-and-12 from the San Francisco 40-yard line as the fourth quarter began. The 49ers led 17-0. Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez completed a 4-yard pass to Santonio Holmes"
