    Agreed consensus now?

I was a fan of Tanny because of all the signings and contracts...But I have to sit through it all and digest the colossal failures he has had as a GM drafting and putting the right team together.

crap i wanted to add a poll

He was great with money until he was the main decision maker. Get a football guy to make the decisions, let Tanny be an accountant.

If Tanny does get shit canned, I just can't see any scenario where he's retained. I'm not saying it can't happen because TB was retained when Tanny took over. But I think that was because of Tanny's inexperience in the area of talent evaluation and Woody must've felt what TB specialized in could be helpful.

he plays no role if he is relinquished of GM responsibilities...we cant keep him on as something else especially working contracts...he'll still have influence in the building.

    he's gotta go.

Woody can hire him as his business accountant for Johnson & Johnson.

Yeah, that was my point. In rare situations the 'relieved' of their duties person can be retained in a different capacity within an organization - Tanny is not one of them.

After losing to the Steelers in the AFCCG, I think Tanny started smoking crack cocaine and lost any common sense he once had.

At this point I've got to say he is bad with money and horrid with talent. I'd only put a caveat in here that his current ineptitude with managing the cap might be desperation from mismanaging the talent situation. In the past he has done fairly well with the cap, so part of me wonders if he has started to throw money at players hoping to cover up his complete failure to bring in and develop talent in house.

His stubbornness is the most annoying thing about him imo. He wants to prove that his moves were the right choice so he has a hard time conceding that he was wrong.

What you mean he resigned Wayne Hunter for what was it 2.5 million after an awful year, then he didn't even make it half way through of preseason before being traded. Re-signs an old and hurt Bryan Thomas for 1 million then cuts him after the second game of the season. I forgot how much he signed the 37 year old Derrick Mason for that 2 year deal. Who ended up having nothing left in the tank got hurt and cut shortly after.

He's not even good with money. He's screwed us over with all of fucking dumbass contracts that have only prolonged the inevitable of being up against the cap. Giving Sanchez an extension to create a little more cap room, paying Harris like he's Patrick Willis, Giving Scott and Pace such huge contracts and then guaranteeing their contracts, guaranteeing Hunter's contract, giving Holmes the most guaranteed money a WR has ever seen... The list goes on.

He cant evaluate talent from within or in the draft. He's a bum and shouldnt even be demoted to doing contract stuff.

And now, if we tank this season, what do we do with all of these contracts? Good luck to the next GM that comes here bc its a mess both personnel wise and contract-wise.

The only great thing Tannenbaum has done was hire Rex. Other than that, look at what he did with the roster after Mangini left.

He's made some bad choices recently in hind sight. But he's awful at evaluating talent.

    Good with money?

So he guarantees WFH's 2.5M, right? Brilliant.

How about the elephant contract on Bart Scott, Calvin Pace and David Harris? I knew he was a sure-fire Genius.

And don't even get me started on the fucking abomination of a guarantee he shelled out on Nacho and Holmes.

Tell me he is good with money again?

And that man ain't got an eye for talent - he won't know one if it hit him right between the eyes.
