Was looking at the salary cap last night during the hours where I couldn't stop ranting after last nights shit shower..and have we created something that we simply cannot fix this year? ( And no i don't mean Tebow!)

We have over 30 players who are in the last year of their contracts , I would say at least 10 of those know they will not be here next year and are currently first choice in their position...

Scott , Pace , Smith J ( Jumbo TE) , Smith E , Slauson , Moore , Greene , Keller ( Contract?), Maybin , B Thomas , Devito , Bell , Landry ( 1yr deal then off to get his payday)...all of these are playing a high percentage of snaps when fit.

Is the lack of effort down to a factor that in reality we have an ageing roster that know there time is up and most are on their big last pay day so don't have the will to raise their game? Has our commitment to guaranteeing salaries to below average performers taken any incentive for performance away? How do you motivate someone ...who a) has the cash guaranteed and b) knows they are away in 5 months time 4-12 or 14-2?

I know we want 99% of the above fucktards gone but to have such a high percentage of the roster 12 weeks away from clearing lockers for good....can any coach get a consistent effort?

FO sucks. They always try to patch and quick fix. Jets need new leadership, I don't mean a new QB.

Only thing to look forward to is the clean out the jets will have
    come end of season.
it's obvious noone gives a fuck anymore,
get your paycheck and go party.

Sometimes I feel like the only people who truly care about results are us
Getting demolished on home turf like that is embarrassing, surely the player felt it
And I hope it means they bounce back next week or it could be a loooong season

To be honest, Keller is probably the only one of those I'd have any interest in retaining. Maybe Landry if he plays 16 games healthy. The rest are a major part of the reason we are a bad team.

I view that list as a positive - thank god we are not locked into all those players long term

Gonna be some major turnover next season. Not interested in any of those players on 1-year contracts. I'd make an exception for Keller if he's cheap but not if he commands top TE money.

We only have 18 free agents, not 30 but it hardly matters when you owe the remaining 35 20 million more than the cap in 2013. Even after cutting Pace, Scott and both Smiths you will barely have enough left to fill out the roster.

I agree, I wish we had a few more players on that list (aka Holmes).

I think we need to keep Bell, Landry, Maybin, and Keller. If Landry stays healthy, he makes our Secondary, when Revis is healthy, extremely scary. He is the type of safety we need to shut down the TE's. Notice how against San Fran, Davis was no where to be found.

Bell brings a nice Veteran mindset to that safety position as well. He knows the AFC East and is a above average player. No need to let him go. Revis, Cromartie, Landry and Bell look awesome out there together.

Keller we need. He is obviously a HUGE part of our offense and Mark relies on him big time. Either we resign him, or sign a new improved TE that can block a hell of a lot better.

Other than that, everyone needs to go. We have Davis at LB, who looks extremely promising, and Powell as a 2nd string force at RB. We need youth or FA's in their prime. Enough is enough. Build a team that will win for years to come, not one year at a time!
