Im not saying he is a bust im saying where has Maybin been so far this season??? He led our team in sacks last season after breaking out in the middle of the season. Has he even been on the field alot??? I never hear his name called, I for one after last season expected big things from him this year, im dissapointed
The guy is just one dimensional .. the thought was stop the run, force 2nd/3rd and long an dlet the guy go off on a passer. Since they don't stop the run he is invisible. He is a one trick pony and has no place to show off his trick.
We haven't really been in any situations where we could just pin our ears back and rush the passer. I'm thinking that's why we haven't seen him and Coples as much. Coples should be on the field anyway as it seems he is more than capable against the run.
I feel kinda bad for you guys and gals. He was who I thought he was. Now you are, unfortunately(for you that is), seeing it.
Didn't your team get blown the fuck out today? Your team folded like a tent against the Pats*. Maybin barely played. He made the best play against the run I've ever seen him play. Not that it matters. This d blows as does this Jet team.
Why do you think he hardly plays? Another example of Mr T wanting what someone else had. The grass is always greener on someone else's team. Now he has to admit he was wrong so we will keep Maybin 3 more years (see Gholston).

Probably because the defense is soft and rarely gets into obvious passing situations that Maybin is good for.

A bust? You can't put Maybin in when we're out of the game by half time because our offense is horrendous.
Herp derp, Maybin hasn't gotten a sack in 4 games, THE DUDE IS TERRIBLE. Same goes for Coples, and Wilkerson, no sacks? WHAT BUSTS!
Not sure if you're being sarcastic, but Tannenbaum basically picked him up on a waiver claim and Maybin had six sacks and four forced fumbles last year. It was a no-risk, high-reward move the Jets got a ton of reward for. How could you blame the GM for that?
Don't worry guys. I'm sure next year is the year he's going to bulk up and be that every down terror we all expect. Or maybe it will be the year after that. And if not, its probably Rex's fault. Get another coach in here and we will truly see his potential come to life. And if that doesn't happen, it will be because he's learning a new defense. Just give him time. He'll get there. And the year after that...
