"McCareins, who lost his job to Jerricho Cotchery, probably will be the third or fourth receiver on the Jets. He might be attractive to receiver-needy teams such as the Bears, who are sniffing around for a starting wideout and could be willing to make a deal. The Bears have a surplus of defensive linemen, which could interest the Jets." The Jets need a pass rusher, that was obvious Friday night. They might also need McCareins. I was hoping the Jets might make a deal with the Eagles since they have a surplus of D-lineman, but that deal is dead with the Stallworth trade yesterday. Beyond the African fellow, not sure what D-lineman on the Bears would be worth the trade...anyone?
Former 1st round pick Michael Haynes has been disgruntled in Chicago and the Bears are trying to move him...I think that'd be the only guy Chicago would part with IMO... Entering his 4th year, 6-4 274 has been a bust in Chicago...Not sure where he'd fit here, POSSIBLY like Thomas and be an OLB, but who knows...
Taking Haynes would bring the D-Rob trade full circle. I think he was the pick the Bears got from the Jets to move up to #4 to take D-Rob.
we gave them 2 first round picks and a 4th rounder i think. I would like to get something for McCariens if we do intend to get rid of him and something is better than nothing. But I think we need a dt more than a smaller end right now. Jacksonville has good depth along the line, and as mentioned previously, so do the Eagles. Their might be a team out there like the Eagles or Jacksonville who simply cannot hold all of their currrent d-lineman so someone might get the bullet.
