I understand that the coples thing is due to the fact that dline men in a 3-4 are much more larger than 4-3 defenders. If the Jets ran a 4-3, Coples would be out there more. I don't quite understand why Ellis isn't playing more often, but I believe he is cycling with Pouha and Devito.
Coples looks good almost every single play he's in, yet the Jets almost never play him. Sometimes I wonder why I'm even a fan of this dumbass team.
Even the announcers are watching the game saying Coples should play more. Rex and Tanny draft a guy 16th overall and sit him for reasons like what? Matchup problems? And continue to play older players who have lost a step.
The utilization (or lack thereof) of offseason acquisitions like Coples and Tebow makes absolutely no sense to me. The comfort zone around the employment of Ryan and Tannenbaum needs to be removed.
Rex loves veterans, he's doing with Coples the same thing he did with Wilkerson last year, playing 50% or less of the snaps.
When are we going to realize the Mike Pettine is not as good as Rex thinks. His defense has been spotty at best all year
