Thought this was a good read, if already posted, I apologize... http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/30/s...-in-replacing-the-irreplaceable.html?hpw&_r=0
it just talked about the colts mistakes and how good the patriots are, then chided rex for his demeanor in a press conference great article...
Dear sarcastic sonofabitch, But it also mentioned how Rex is the master of the defense he installed and would be more than competent in adjusting his x's & o's..... signed, disgusted with sarcastic jerk-offs...:shit:
In that sense, Polian said, the Jets have an advantage. Ryan said he had been no more involved with the defensive planning than before, a sentiment corroborated by several players, but he did conceive this defense. He installed it. He knows its intricacies and his players’ strengths and weaknesses. “If you’re an X’s-and-O’s junkie, as I am, it’s going to be fun to watch how Rex does it,”
yeh those same statements have been going around this board all week. real great reporting by that guy.
"Rex will adjust" makes me think back to the PO win over the Pats. How the heck can that game get schemed to make Ms Brady look so inept, but most of the time the D looks like it's floundering and barely treading water.
Yeah... not alot of substance in that article. Simply, states an opinion as a fact - then, supports the opinion with more opinion. Doesn't indicate what exactly the author believes makes Rex uniquely qualified to adjust. But... back on topic. You gotta make sure people are taking care of the fundamentals before you start adjusting much. And, it's too early to say how well the Jets' coaches will be able to adjust- when they've got to build and maintain a team focus on fundamentals. That is, 3 games into the season, and they're still working out some kinks. Now, if the team continues to have problems with focusing on fundamentals (tackling, catching, throwing, blocking, running) then i wonder how able well they'll be to adjusting how they approach the game.
