is it just me or does Powell always get those extra 2 or 3 yards per carry, and Green either waits to long for his blockers and gets back to the line of scrimmage. I'd give Powell more and see what he can do...

This is why Powell is a better option right now. If Greene has no hole to run through he is not going to make anything happen. Powell seems to be a bit more agile behind the line and can adjust to what is happening.

I think Greene just requires his blockers to be next to perfect for him to get to the second level of tacklers where he feels he can inflict damage running guys over, but right now blocking is obviously a concern.

I'm sorry but I'm not ready to call Greene a horrible back yet. I think he has his flaws but he is more than capable of being the back we need in this offense. His downfall is that he is strict with the play and isn't using his vision or instincts the way he should. He was good at it when he played for Iowa so I know he is capable.

The guy just put up over a thousand yards rushing last year behind a bad run blocking line, almost identical run blocking line he has now and there is nothing that suggests it didn't get worse since last season.

It's so easy to point the blame at our bigger named players on offense but our line is making life hard for a lot of these guys on the field. You can't just ignore that aspect of it.

I just can't see why Greene should get the benefit of needing perfect blocking more than the others, I could somewhat see it if he absolutely destroyed guys in the secondary once he got there. Then his style would make sense. Only that it's more often than not, that even the puniest CBs seem to lay it more on Greene than the other way around. Doesn't require much risk nor skill to tackle a guy that starts falling forward 3 yds prior to impact... hell, I've even seen him fall on his face when they miss their tackle on him, because he's slowly tilting and falling down on his own. For every game that passes, I'm getting more and more convinced he's a megasized toddler.

Ever since Greene's rookie year his production has gone down the drain. It pains me whenever I see him on the field, I can't stand it. I've never seen anyone get worse as time went by like this.

It's not all on Greene though, our O-Line has been having a lot of trouble punching holes in the opposing defense. I'm hoping the O-Line coach does something to improve our run game.

I'm fine with Greene when we run the quick hitter North South power plays between the tackles. But he is absolutely abysmal when we try anything remotely resembling an off tackle or sweep play. He's got no outside burst or quick cutting ability.

He used to be better, but I think he's been enjoying a few too many meals.

^^^^This is it in a nutshell.

That's why his average gain is close to his height.

Ah...all this time I was thinking he kept tripping over those white lines on the field.

Our biggest problem with our running game is that no team respects our passing game. That is not a knock on anyone, but seriously, what is there to fear? Our first game against the Bills we attempted to stretch the field a lot, and had success in the run game. Coincedence? In addition, when was the last time we ran a screen play, or a series of screen plays. My point is, the defensive line, and linebackers can run down hill without any concern of being beat in the passing game.

Our second biggest problem is we are not starting our biggest threat a RB. Greene is a good running back, as a closer. He is a down hill runner, and needs a hole to run through. His agility, outside speed, and vision are horrendous for an NFL starting RB. Powell is not a great RB, but he is still young. He may have more than we expect, as we haven't seen him much.

Our offensive line is not the problem with this team, or our run game. This is the major point I would like to get acrossed. Is Slauson upgradeable? Yes Is Moore upgradeable? Yes Tell me how many teams have 5 pro bowlers on there offensive line. We may have 3, especially the way Howard is playing.

Greene has no vision. It looks like he puts his head down right when he receives the ball. He can't get to the next level at all.

I noticed Slauson sucked awhile ago. Serviceable but awful at pulling.

I don't get the title? What the articles says doesn't matter, the running game sucks, whether it's the RB's or the O-line..... or both, it sucks.
